wow... this Taj guy really needs to be locked up, I don't care what he is doign it for, but its illegal, and now he starting to do this to companies, I would request that link in the OP be removed, because I am sure that website had viruses and hacking crap all in it.

Here in the US people have been charged with that, even when they got permission to use it!

So Sky is still the same botfest it has always been, that isn't news really. And since everyone seems to know all the Sky LSs bot in one way or the other I don't see this having much of an impact unless we start seeing those buyers get banned.
Either way I think it's time for SE to make HNM fights into BC fights and get done with it.

I think this was part of the purpose of putting the scaled down HNMs into Nyzul Isle Assault.. although nothing is going to be changed until those scaled down NMs have the potential of dropping a Ridill or Aquarian Abjuration: Body.

1. Certainly, within the UK, this would contravene the Data Protection Act. Personally I think Taj has been going to far for a while, and almost wants to get caught.

1- Hopefully this is what actually does Taj in. This is hacking into a company that actually has something to protect, and might give a shit about it's customers (since they didn't really have to buy it), and want to keep them. Although they have their own legal troubles, FFXIApp could very well get Taj imprisoned for this

Continuing a string of high-profile hacking activities related to FFXI, the player known as Taj posted a list of users from every server of players who have purchased the "FFXIApp" botting program within approximately the past 18 months. He obtained the extensive list by hacking into a website where FFXIApp is sold.

FFXIApp is a program that is used to claim monsters, and includes other utility functions. Square-Enix has repeatedly stated that such programs are illegal when used with FFXI, and has taken extensive measures to prevent their use including banning the accounts of those who use them.

The list of players who purchased FFXIApp, including a large "unknown" section of players who have FFXIAH listings under their name on multiple servers, was posted on the website <snip> yesterday. The website was leaked by Taj to members of BG Forums where he is banned for other hacking activities, most notably the recent infiltration of the Friends List Plus & Linkshell Community Beta systems and subsequent world transfer of several accounts to his own server.

Note: If you want to view the list, do it from a computer that does not have FFXI installed and has an active virus scanner running. The website Taj posted includes a graphic and audio file, and many hundreds of links to FFXIAH listings for users. I also checked it out for any other fun stuff (cookies, javascript, ActiveX controls, etc.) and I didn't see anything funky.

Then again, my virus scanner here at the office (Norton Internet Security AV '08 Corporate edition) hasn't gone off yet.
