  • Good areas to trio?

As I've stated before in my other post's, I static once or twice a week with a couple other people in my ls. With work/family responsibilities, it's easier for us to play on a set schedule, so we typically get together, find a few other peeps, and get a few levels here and there.

In building our static, we tried to have the required roles covered on our end, so that we could pick up pretty much anyone and get to it. However, with the pickings being so slim lately we've STILL ended up waiting for quite a while at times just trying to find three DD's.

On the higher end (level 32), we static as WHM/BLM (me), RNG/NIN, and WAR/MNK, on the lower end (level 27) we are RDM/WHM (me again), BRD/WHM, and MNK/WAR. Given those jobs, we usually can get by, although with our 27 set it can be hard finding a real tank...but that's another subject for another time.

Anyways, I'm familiar with Campsitarus, and have used it on the rare occasion that a specific area we're in is so over-camped as to make trying to level just awful. We're not the type to freak out if exp per hour isn't huge (we set a specific level goal, and if we don't make it, then oh well, there's always next time), so we can usually deal with it. This is where the trio-ing comes in...

Is there any good guides to trio-ing out there? Not so much strategy (we've been playing together as a static for a while and are pretty good as a threesome) but just areas with mobs where exp is decent through the level's for a trio of the right jobs to make somewhat decent xp? We've already trio'd a lot due to trying to avoid crappy area's (i.e., Valkurm), and did again recently in Yhotunga because there was literally no one lfg near our level. Well, that's not true, there was like a level 30 BLU with a level 8 WHM sub lfg, and we were like, "Ummm...NO" (sorry if that comes off as bitchy, but I have a rule that sub jobs must be reasonably leveled). Consequently, we decided to trio on T/VT gobs and Mandy's and the exp wasn't too bad, actually. Got us enough to get the hell out of the Jungle and prepare for our time at Garliege, which was all we really wanted anyways.

Anyways, yeah, so if there's any good sites (or anyone that has a good idea on what mobs/areas would be good to trio in from past experience) and you guys would be willing to share, I would be very appreciative. It's always good to have a backup plan nowadays ^^

    Thanks! :D

Hmm. Not sure where for your levels specifically, but I'd use the original Campitaru (http://campsitarus.blogspot.com/ ) for alternate camps, then use http://monsters.ffxi-atlas.com/ to check out the exact monster level ranges. I'd try to stick with things no more than Tough (1-4 levels above your "tank") in a three man crew, unless you have BST or /BST and there are level appropriate pets.

For your lower level grouping, your MNK/WAR may be used as a "real" tank on Tough level monsters. With B+ Evasion and a Regen from RDM, you may be able to get away with a Mambo and still use attack food on T's. I'm sure your MNK friend wouldn't mind some Guard skill up, either. XD

You were right in exercising your prejudice.

Try trioing in areas 10~15 levels below the regular camps.
