New to game (360)

Okay i recently bought this game with my best friend and and i saw him playin it last night, he had the same gear from levels 1-6 now and we dont know where to get the new gear.. also the red ? above his head? what level do you start getting quest?

First of all, try looking at this: Final Fantasy XI New Player Guide


To buy your new gear you can either go to the local Auction house and place a bid on an item you want, or try browsing the local NPC armor and weapon shops. They will be clearly marked on your map of your starting city.

You can start doing quests and missions at any level for the most part.

EDIT: Those movies are all very helpful and entertaining ^^ so for any further questions for now, I'd try looking it up on that website and watching the tutorials. When you progress further into the game and start getting into the really complicated stuff, feel free to make a new thread ^^

well here's some neko tips:

lvl 7 mele= leather armor set...pretty cheap on the old AH and sold my some NPCs depedning on the state of the conquest.

lvl 8 mage-type= robes...same kind of sales, ETC.

making gill is easy...just sell all those drops on the AH...espc. stacks of crystals...
