Graphics and Some

Hey everyone. Well i am returning to ffxi and this time i am serious and have the time to play the game and actually view the world. What i wanted to ask quickly was if the servers population are drastically different. Right now i am in the Kujata server and wanted to know if there are enough people in the game instead of it being a ghost town. Also right now im playing on my x box 360 and i saw an image on this website home page and the graphics looked NOTHING compared to mine, they were far better. I was just wondering if there is going to be a graphics update or if that picture was just enhanced.

If you arn't using an HDTV with the resolution set to 720p you won't see the graphics like you see in screenshots. ; ;

i thought the servers would be ghost towns as well, they somewhat are, with an average fo 2200 people on at any time(hades atleasT), but most of thouse people are in the Aht areas.

Even though it seemed that there weren't too many people leveling low level jobs, I have never had a problem finding people to party with on Kujata.

Usually there are set peak times for NA, EU, and JP players. The downtimes get down to 2k or so, usually early morning.

Yeah, I generally never have much of a problem running into plently of people on Kujata (except Mhurron, but he plays at weird times anyways ), so no, it isn't "ghost town" status. It's akin to asking if the game is dying for the Nth time, when the game is still going strong (I laugh at those type of posts, honestly ).

I'm on Kujata as well, and I only really play from like...1am-5am PST, and even during those hours (basically the "down time" between NA & JP prime), I don't see less than 1500 people online, which I'd consider a healthy number for non-prime.

As for the graphics, if they're that much better than your 360 (assuming you're playing in HD), they're probably using registry edits & some of the Windower plugins like DrawDistance. Standard (maxed) PC graphics vs. XBox 360 in HD, I'll take my XBox any day.

I'm in Kujata, and I haven't seen much of a population decrease. Though its impossible for me to get a party at level 71(though thats probably because I'm pld)

The 360 version looks beautiful running at upscaled 1080p on a good HDTV, but otherwise you'll find it on par with a good gaming PC. There was no major graphics update with the 360 version. They enhanced the colours a bit, increased the environmental draw distance, and cleaned up some of the textures, that's about it.

You're the one in Japan, I wouldn't talk about weird times.

EDT in the country that thinks it's the center of the universe. Everything else is by definition weird

Jei, Yes, they smoothed them out a bit. along with a larger draw radius
