That page doesn't say much.
It just says, they have a talk session and a cosplay.... and everyone were surprised when SE accounced the new expansion name. Althana's Godly Soldier.

That's all.

OK well, I'm not sure how to translate those 2 kanji. Althana's XX, first one is god, second one is soldier. Divine soldier? Holy Knight? We'll see...

Knowing the naming structure of FFXI expansions, the title will probably translate to "Crusaders of Altana" or "Holy Knights of Altana"

Although that's interesting, sounds like a new focus... usually the expansion titles focus on the bad guys... Altana's knights gone bad?

itmedia's article on it, and it says both in the title and the first paragraph the name of the new expansion.

The expansion has been reported from TWO sources, one of which is reputable iirc (itmedia), and the other is a blog with other pictures covering the event. Something tells me this is the expansion.

I just hope it doesn't require being on The Last Verse or I'll mpk myself since I still havent been able to finish CoP or Zilart (or Aht Urgan to the current mission for that matter).

(Most parts of) each expansion seems to be stand-alone, so I guess that would not be the case.

usually about 6-7 months.

CoP was annouced in March and released in September. ToAU was revealed in an October and released in April.

When I heard the name I thought it would be rather weird to add a new continent when it's about Altana, but then... Crusaders. Crusades could go all over the world, teaching the "religion" so maybe...
