I'd recommend you play this game instead of WoW. It's much more rewarding, but be prepared that getting something done will take much more time. Also, the ability to always change jobs if you want to is awesome (you have to do it at your Mog House though).

are there any mods out there for ff11 like there are for WoW and if so will i not be able to get them to work since ill be playing on the xbox or will i be able to sync up to my com and just transfer the files into the ff11 program file.

There are models and interface mods. They are 3rd party and are not supported by S-E by the way. So you'll have to use them at your own risk. They usually involve replacing the game's data files by yourself.

If you can hook up your Xbox hard drive to PC I guess you can mod it. But I don't know, I don't own xbox.

I hope you mean that you found an Xbox version, because with an Xbox you do need to have the disc in the drive every time you want to play.

also keep in mind that in FFXI if you find you hate playing a job you can swap at any time without creating a new character. This is a big difference between FFXI and other MMORPGs where if you find you hate playing say a warrior class you have to start over to rid yourself of it!

I'm lvl 41 summoner and lvl 75 THF on the same character ^^

LoL...........so last night i was really hyped up about starting the game and started the install. as i was getting through it the stupid PlayOnline servers were down so i couldnt get it started..........so that sucked. also i have some family that plays on leviathan server are they going to need to get me a world pass or can i just pick what server i want to get into from a list.

oh yea and another thing i was just reading that like 7000 people just got banned from using third party mods. i came from WoW and there were a lot of mods that helped in places like better user interface, specific class(or in ffxi it would be job) mods, quest mods and many other things of that nature. does ffxi have mods that do the same things or is it illegal to use them.

You are able to pick what server you want to go to now when you set up your character. As far as I know all third party applications are concidered bannable offenses.

ANY third party software which modifies the game in ANY way is against the Terms of Service--the very ToS you agreed to everyone time you log in, I think.

That means every "mod" is against the rules.

haha sorry i didnt know that i was being graded on punctuation here mr. IfritnoItazura. next time ill try harder ok teacher. im on my cell phone so its kinda annoying to have to put that in and i think that everyone here know what im getting at. but as far as my questions goes thanks for clearing that up for me.
