I cannot play.
I found out that... You need an adult card to start playing... But you can use a pre-paid card if you're between the ages of 13-17!! YES!!

you could get a bank account with an atm/debit card and just use that(just remember the money gets automatically taken out on the 1st-3rd of each month), or ask a relative to do it for you. If you do get someone else to do it for you remember that each mule will cost $1 on top of the $13 each month. ! last thing you could do is have your mom pay for it and work it off each month(she may even cut you a break)

I believe a minor can't get a debit card with a required logo from a bank account. US would be Cirrus, GoldKey, Maestro etc.
Of course a prepaid card works like the OP said. COngrats and welcome to FFXIComment

Err...just do what I did and use your parent's credit card? I just paid my mom each month until I hit 18 and got my debit card...why not do that? o_O

My dad got insane about letting me on the internet when I lived with him (I used my phone, he didn't even have dial up), although I think it was partially envy (my phone could get on the internet, he couldn't afford fsking dial up) in addition to the stupidity.
He actually tried to keep me from using my phone to AIM/email my friends. My mom told me to just ignore him and do it anyway =p
Was funny, he found out I was mailing someone, and told me "You shouldn't talk to strangers on the internet, they're probably predators that just want to kidnap you" (I almost replied "Kidnap? Awesome, this place sucks.")... he didn't have much of a defense when I asked him how many child predators would pay 13$ a month to meet kids online, then keep talking to them without asking any personal details for months and months... while doing it from fucking australasia.Comment
