It took me about 9 minutes to download.

Are you serious?? Are you on a T3 connection?

I've got DSL and I started the download as soon as it was available. POL update took about 10 minutes. FFXI update took a little under 2 hours.

I started my husband's update a little after mine started and strangely his finished first. Maybe it was because he has a faster HD, maybe it was because I was doing other stuff on my computer at the same time.

It was closer to 30. I edited a later post. I wasn't really paying attention as I should have. Multi-tasking is the bane of accuracy in these matters.

Anywho I wasn't really boasting. I just thought it was odd.

Wow, good to know it's not just me...I'm currently @ 17% now, so it's picking up a (tiny) bit.

Man, and I'm doing this on my hard-wired media center right now. I can't wait until I have to DL this over my wireless network, it has this great thing it does where it loses a signal randomly.

Maybe I should wait a day and let things calm down...

If you don't absolutely have to play this evening (and really, no one does), it might be advisable. Or at least set it to download and go do something else for a few hours. Heck, it's 10 on the east coast. That's a reasonable time to go to bed.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on playing tonight, but I had plans to go mining when I got done work tomorrow...I'm gonna try updating my gaming rig when I leave for work at 7 am, hopefully it'll be done when I get home @ 5.

I'm gonna be duoing BST's on friday night, hopefully I can get this installed and everything before then...I'm dying to see what the XP bonuses end up being in a duo, and the extra signet effects are freaking sweet ^^

I'm not European. I live in Ohio.

edit: It was probably closer to half an hour now that I think about it. I only looked when it was about halfway done.

i'm in ohio myself and dowmloaded it in about 1hr 45 mn then installed in 35min inve been on line now for over 3 hours not even a single problem

The update's been extremely slow for me also... It's crapped out on me about 2 times, and if the estimates I'm getting right now are accurate, it'll have taken me 4 hours to finish the update. This is on a PC with DSL.

I think i'll update my PS3 while i sleep...hopfully it'll be done when i get up...then i might start up my PC in the morning and start the update....right now its been 2 hours and i'm at 23%...i can't imagine it being over 2-4 hours...

I have a fairly fast computer with high speed cable and my update download is taking 9 hours =( I went to watch the prestige while I waited and its only 30% done...*sigh*

Mine's absolutely crawling, and I'm on ADSL ... if I'm lucky I'm getting 20 kb/s, and there are long pauses between files (10 seconds between would add 5 hours to the d/l, and sounds likely if not a bit low). With any luck, it will be done in the morning, but I can't count on that.

If I'd have known it would be this long, I'd have walked my mother through logging me on so I could get it started while I was still away at school - what with the two hour drive and all it would have been done by the time I got home.

This kind of sucks, because my LS had a Promy run tonight. I'm fairly certain they wouldn't go without me though, because they would know my wrath. Still, it sucks because I had plans in-game. Maybe by 3 AM it'll be done ... >.<

Didn't SE go through this dance before? I remember a lot of people complained before about getting the update. It seems like I've seen this dance a while back.

I think a lot of people here have fat pipes? (1mb download at least.)
I just hope my download doesn't freeze. *sigh* still 8 hours.

Too bad we couldn't get ps2 or xbox360 to run bittorrent. That would be totally wicked to have everyone providing updates to everyone else.
