With the Selbina-Mhaura ferry, there is a clear indicator as to whether pirates attack or not. The sign is in how the screens and log display upon the ferry reloading after the departure CS. So far I have yet to see a similar pattern with the Channel ferry, but it would be interesting if there was some indicator there as well.

I found one. When the barge loads after the departing CS. When my wyvern loaded, I saw a large shadow (one there for 1/2 a sec) where he jumps on the boat. He spawned that ride. The shadow didn't load as soon as character did, it loaded when the npcs,mobs and my pet loaded. He dropped nothing.

I have another question. For the people who have gotten the ring and boots to drop: Were you the only person in your party? If now how many people did you have?

Every kill I had was solo. I was only really in party a couple times on the boat and usually it was to team up on Vodyanoi.

The only time someone camped Stubby with me the convo went like:

'dude, there's not much to do here.'

'yep.'

'that npc is annoying as hell.'

'yep.'

'how long do you usually do this?'

'sometimes all day.'

'wow... yeah... no thanks.'
