Ok. So it seems the sea monk has perma-hundred fists XD You basically have to kite and nuke. Doesn't seem too bad. But yeah, the drop rate will probably be ass.

The attack rate goes down as you do more damage to it, according to the wiki. Might be able to Invincible or Sentinel the first part of the fight and tank the rest normally.

i'm not the one to nitpick but really... what zones other than lowbie zones can you walk around fully w/o sneak/invis? not every area is supposed to be a safe zone you can just run around freely in.

if they dont do anything with LoO i think that's fine too. or maybe i can drop some semi-ok rare.ex item like Aquarius does.

no one kills Aquarius now but you dont see people complaining about him hanging around aggroing lv. 75s running by now right?

not flaming, just pointing some things out. i think its a non-issue with LoO. have other more fair ways to obtain KC. Make some lucky kids happy. who cares if theres a few more KC running around. it's only fun item really, its not really super viable for most situations anyways.

I dont think they are totally abandoning sky. There's just not much left they can add to it. other than fix/change spawn conditions. My ls still does sky runs every week. Theres still a lot of players out there that dont have sky experience, let alone sea/limbus/etc experience.

What's the strategy for this BC by the way?
The strategies I've seen seeing on Allakhazam seem to be mostly, bring 1 of the following (PLD, WAR, NIN) and 2 of the following: (RDM, BLM, WHM) and basically have the tank grab hate and kite it around while the others nuke it. Most posts I read said they tried to tank it straight-up the first fight, but got owned by its constant, hard hits. I also saw some BST x3 startegies that worked, aparently. The NM seems not to be particularly resistant to Sleep/Bind/Gravity.

If it's true that its attack rate drops as it takes damage, though, it could be possible to straight-tank it at the end (aside from straight tanking the first 30 seconds with Sentinel.)

As damage is dealt to it, its tentacles start to break. This slows down its attack rate as more damage is done.
Can be defeated by DRG,PLD,BLM combination. 2 hour abiltity was required.
Uses Ink Jet, Whirlwind and Maelstrom more frequently as HP get lower. Generally around 25% it uses Maelstrom.
At the start, Fe'e hits incredibly fast, so blink tanking isn't a good option. The paladin generally requires healing help to begin with as it's easy to be interrupted while casting.
Once the tentacles are broken enough for the PLD to cure himself, the BLM should proceed to nuke the mob as usual.
As Fe'e health drops below 25%, ensure that its not near the mage as its Maelstrom can be quite a devestating attack!
Update on Dec. 20, 2006 2:30 (PST) added the weapon Kraken Club to the BCNM reward table.
Looks like pld-DD-DD is a good setup, maybe with drg/whm or a blu for DD+backup cures, or you might be able to Bind-nuke it. Maybe a few rdms or a blm blm brd setup could work?

Sounds good. BLU would be pretty good, considering they can Sleep, Bind, and Gravity. And a DRG/WHM with juices should be able to heal pretty well. Spartan Hoplon could help out early in the fight, too. I wonder if Cocoon + Phalanx is enough? (Talking about PLD/BLU, by the way XD)

People kill Aquarius only if they still need/want a fransisca. He still drops "something." They might add some sort of drop to him, but I wouldn't count on a rare/ex version of KC. Dual wielding 8x attacking weapons would be interesting.

I think they'll just remove him from the game.

I think Pld Mnk Mnk or Pld Pld Mnk might work well, with 2 plds thats 1m to drop most of its tenticals which Im hoping will be quiet easy with Hundred Fists. With 1 Pld and 2 Mnks its just more dmg shorter time, could work I think. Pld can pretty much straight tank it solo towards the end.

Certainly viable, but I prefer strategies that don't involve 2-hour so it can be attempted more than once. Wait! I know! As long as we're talking about two-hours, there's always that 15-WS skillchain I've always wanted to see. SAM x3 ftw?
