when is this server maintenance take place

i know october 1st and october 2nd, but it says 0:00-6:00 and 0:00-8:00, is that 6 AM or PM and 8 AM or PM? i just got it and i was hopin to play tonight and its doing the really long patch update with a hour and twelve minutes left, and i need to watch saturday night live tonight(Dane Cook is hosting!!!!) so it looks like all i will be able to do is make my character if im lucky, but thats about it, and i just want to know if i can play tomorrow day or if i can only play for a few hours at night....lol, anyways, sorry, please answer my question

i assume without any AM or PM its military time the 24 our clock. meaning 0-6 and 0-8 is midnight to 6 am and mignight to 8 atm if it was pm it would be 0:00-18:00 or 0:00-20:00 right?

Are you talking about POL maint, or FFXI maint. If it's POL maintenance, i.e registration server maint, it doesn't affect play at all. It's basically just POL saying LOLZ WE HOLD MAINT OVER THE TIME UR BILLED SO U CAN'T CHANGE UR CREDIT CARD INFO (which is a huge inconviniance)

Really? Funny, I think I've changed my CC info on POL maybe twice since NA release. And the times are from Midnight to 6am PDT, meaning pacific coast time. So, how is not being able to change your CC info between midnight and 6am in the morning a huge inconvenience? I'd call it more of a Non-Issue. Plus, this is happening on the days they bill for your account so if you haven't put up the correct CC by this point you're either lazy or..... no, lazy's the only thing I can think of.

Since they do registration server maintenance the same time each month, it's really anything but an inconvenience. Plan ahead, folks. It's not that hard. And if you run into a problem with billing during those couple of days, it's not the end of the world. You'll be able to play again shortly.

I should be able to change my billing info at any time, they hold POL maint OVER the time you're billed, so if you forget to just before, or if you're like me and use disposable creditcard thingies with money put on, there's no way you can change it soon enough before you're billed and so every month I have to reactivate my characters. :\ Do you not think it's even a little stupid to hold POL maint where they know you're unable to change your payment info, during the time which you're billed? Either way, don't be such a bitch about things..no, bitch isn't the only thing I can think of. :\

Well, there's nothing like taking a billing issue and making it personal. As I said above, it's not as though this maintenance is a surprise. They do it every month at the same time each month. Learn to plan ahead and then you won't have anything to worry about.

Regardless of what you think you should or should not be able to do with your billing, SE sets the terms in that area.

My point being, Intensity argued that the hours of 00:00-6:00 PDT isn't an inconvenience when Vyren clearly has Location: England in his/her profile. Yeah the middle of the night isn't a problem to most of you but don't forget we're at the centre of the world (time wise) here in England and PDT is GMT-8. The POL maintenance runs from 16:00-22:00 over here and I'd call not being able to change your credit card details in our prime time and inconvenience. Wouldn't you?

I'm not saying they should run the maintenance at a time to suit everybody, because that doesn't exist, however Vyern is right that they only perform the maintenance just as the payments are received. This is, quite frankly, extremely bad planning.

ok then, I frankly don't see what the issue is here then (since the OP's question has long been answered).

as murphie said, SE has a set date/time when they perform registration server maintenance. If you need to change stuff, change it before then. it's a simple matter of personal organization.
