glad you got help and a ls. hope they inform you not to buy all your gear from the ah at low levels. there is a shop in sandoria not to far from the auction house, where you can buy your level 7 armor for less than the ah prices. my take from what you posted is you are missing the most important part of this game, talking to npc's. talking to npc's would have pointed you towards where you wanted to go. they also are quest starters for free low level items and gil. i spent my first 2 days in town talking to npc's and doing those quests. learned my way around town and loading up on gear.then i went outside. good luck and have fun.
ps you will always be asking for help and answers, its the nature of this game.

yes, in south sandy head toward the mog house. Along the north side of the street you'll see signs on buildings one that looks like clothing and one that looks like a sword. Buy from there because they sell the low level clothing, and its very cheap.

I finally feel like I am getting the hang of things, formed my 1st party and all that last night

Still a few unexpected deaths, when mobs check out as DC but end up slaying me....but hey, never mind!

Glad its friday today can spend all night on it

PS I prefer running round with people than talking to NPCs right now, suppose thats the beauty of it, I cant do what I want!
