Crazy?

What was the craziest thing you've done, preferably in a party, that you probably wouldn't do again?

After spending several weeks in 3rd place in Conquest, I once wore my Kingdom Aketon to tank in a party when we finally took 1st place. :D 3 of them were friends, so they were ok with it. It wasn't too bad, actually, heh.

I don't know about the craziest thing, but I do know the dumbest thing I've done in a party.

While partyin in the Boyahda tree, we were xping off crawlers. All was good. We were getting decent xp, going at a decent rate, etc.

Until I accidentally attacked one of the mandras. The one second I turend my face from the screen, I attacked it. In a matter of a seconds, the entire party was dead. I apologized soooo much, and they were actually cool with it. Not everyday you fuck up and your party forgives you.

In a Valkrum Dunes party a few weeks ago.....

I was leveling my war and my pt had TWO pls. So everyone was expecting to chain mobs like crazy. It was crazy alright (and stupid), everyone going their separate ways engaging multiple mobs, with no organization whatsoever. Think some people went AFK here and there as do the PLs. Party got wiped

Lesson learned - organization and communication is a must! And take the task on hand seriously....

I was in a party when the puller did exactly that. We all stood around going "lol..." thinking he was pulling our leg, since we'd spent half the party talking about killing him on other jobs, in other groups, or watching RMT killing him (back in the OLD days, although now the entire situation took place in the old days before the despawn patch.)

I especially remember the redmage saying "Dude, you have to die. If you zone that shit, half the server will blacklist you."

Meanwhile I was shrieking "Dont' bring that thing anywhere near me!!11"



HUmm...stupidest thing I ever did...my good buddy Jahn never lets me live it down anyway.

Ok so I'm a perky little 40-something whitemage, in my perky little holy breastplate, feeling all full of myself because I'm done leveling in Crawlers Nest.

Well for some dumass reason me and Jahn, who was I think a 60-ish WAR at the time, are deciding to go 'adventure' in there, and we zone in, first thing we see is an ENOURMOUS crawler train. Jahn to this day says there were more than thirty crawlers in that train, all floating around near the entrance murdering people left and right.

So Jahn, being all-so-eager to show off to the impressionable young whitemage, pulls out the greataxe and starts swinging away.

At which point I decided to strut my own stuff with my shiny new Banishga II.

...yeah, that was when I learned that there was no such thing as 'provokega'.

I was a 20ish BST in Jugner when I got the nutty idea of trying to solo a walking tree. I thought, 'Hey, there are tons of pets around, and this will be great practice for marathon NM fights later on!'

So, yeah, saplings link with treants. ._.;

Don't feel bad Mog. When we were there killing Robber Crabs, I got lazy and didn't fix my macros. I tabbed, but I also hit the cursor on my controller by accident and casted rasp on the first rabbit in sight. Trying to recover, I messed up tabbing and landed sleep on the mandy.

Needless to say, I couldn't sleep for days over that guilt trip. :/

Wanted to add that, although it wasn't me, I think Rainey (sp?) tanked one of the wyrmkings (Jormy?) naked. Completely down to nothing (no accessories even)

I was EXP'n SAM with a friend in my LS. (THF) I was walking around gathering items, and had equiped my Katayama Ichimonji because I liked the blue hilt on it. It looked better than the one I was using so I showcased it.

45 minutes later, I was looking at my Berserked damage and I was caping off at 35dmg. I couldn't believe what was going on. With all the Acc and Atk I had, I should have been in the 60~75 range. So I /check myself and fall out laughing!! I forgot to switch out weapons, so I was EXP'n with that Lv.10 Great Katana. Funny thing was, Great Katana WS are all modified by STR, so my STR+30 was keeping my Enpis in the 200's. lol

Back about three years ago, my old static was in the 2nd Jungle killing Mandy's and Goblins in the little cave with the loan Lizard. Two people went AFK for Water and bathroom breaks so the PLD decided to bust out his Fishing pole and check out the little watering hole. Well after a minute or two, this goof ball pulls up a Razorjaw Pugil. Well a Lv.30~32 party can't hope to kill a Lv.50~53 mob, let alone one that's a Pugil. Problem is we didn't know that at the time. lol So we get the people not AFK to start attacking the thing, a few seconds later the 1st Screwdriver hits, and the PLD who fished it out was dead. Mage went next, and once the MNK and I realized there was no way we'd make it, we took off running. Before we could leave the cave, it Screwdrivered the MNK into oblivion, and allowing me just enough time to get out. It ran back to the cave after about 5 minutes, and killed the 2 people who were AFK. I did have the joy of using Tractor to get everbody out of the cave so somebody else could Raise them, since the Pugil patrolled the little area for a good 5 minutes or so.

Our LS now has a rule of no fishing while EXP'n, and we tell this cautionary tale to all new members. Despite the PLD's embarassment! Speaking of new members, I have a few people I have to tell this tale to!
