Another factor in this is people need to be taking out those mirrors and NMs at the source, to help keep things easier in beseiged. Those Mirrors have great ISP bonuses so there is no reason not to farm them, and the mobs surrounding them wont be hard for a small group of lvl 75's, especially a melee burn with a rdm's sleepga.

Actually in the last update they made the ISP gained from mirrors less while making them even harder to get, it's like SE doesn't want us to get them. Before the update, I quite often went out to get them, but now I dont stand a chance.

Let's see:

1. AU mobs are a lot weaker than old area mobs and they also spawn faster.

2. Sanction gives a flat +15% exp bonus. How can you ignore that?

3. Sanction offers an extra auto-refresh or auto-regen effect that stacks with everythig.

AU regions offer almost twice the exp of old regions so no, you can't level elsewhere "pretty quickly".

1. i dont know about weaker. i have no prob soloing the D/C beastmen mobs like quadavs an sush, but these new mobs actually took me awhile to solo. Some mobs in the old area spawn back very fast.

2. i didnt know sanction gave exp bonus? i really need to pay attention to those gaurds more.

3. /whm gives auto regen, an the spell regen, plsu i highly doubt im suffering from the 10 seconds i have to rest.

The last comment is what i have a prob with. The new areas offer nothing for an endgame bst. The mobs are all E,P or D/C to me at 75. An in my honest op, have alot more base hp then the older region mobs.

I still agree witht he OP, that on my server atleast less an less could care less about besieged anymore. an the numbers are goin down an down as far as participating goes. An honestly i myself cant help but feel bored while im in there.
Call it frustration if you will, but you can only take so much lag before you kill yourself. being 2 shoted by some AoE out of nowhere is lame. but funny to watch about 300 names scroll up on your screen from some crazy atk. or getting d/ced out of besieged only to return to nothing to show for your 2 hours of work,

You really havn't explored Aht urghan areas much?

1. Aht Urghan mobs are considerably weaker if you know where to look. The Colibris are extremly weak. Lesser Colibiris, on my 60 COR I was hitting for 120-140, on crabs I was lucky if I hit for 75. These still con EP at 75 making for good, easy kills to farm Seals while getting a little ISP.

2. Yes, Sanctions gives +15% EXP bonus when the Astral Candiance is in Al Zahbi. That's why you can have a regular exp party and still get 10k+/hr. The guard tells you when you get sanction

The new areas have some really good armor available from assault. Most of the NMs have yet to be taken down, or even implimented into the game yet. Hell, how do you know that two weeks from now a new NM that drops some head peice with +50 Charm on it? It's a new area, you can't cut it out yet.

1. i dunno they all die the same to me. especially when i run around with my bst an pet. an yeah Lesser Colibiris are easy. then again so are the older area mobs, as long as you know where to go,

2. i dunno i never noticed the exp increase. i pretty much get the same exp in the new areas as i did in the old areas. the spiders in AU give the same exp to me wether i have a sanction or not. im gonna have to read what the gaurd says besides trying to sell me stupid stuff for 200 IS.

3, So far every new area i been in an soloed. i never needed to rely on auto refresh or regen. even with my limited mp from bst/whm. with clear mind an a dark staff, i can gain back my mp in a very sort amount of time, an besides if i want constan mp, i can always trhow on my gaudy harness.

i already got 2 of the armor from assault i liked for my bst. a belt, an a neck piece, not to worried about any of the armor. as for NM. its true, they havent placed them all yet. an maybe when they have i will go play in the zones again. but i highly doubt i will because im forced to live with a horrid glitch.

You could try getting an actual party. Make you one since you complain about invited. WAR, WAR, BST, NIN, RDM, BRD and go to Mamool Ja Staging Point, you'll notice the huge EXP Boots. Hell, Make it DD, BST, PLD, BLM, WHM, RDM you'll still get 10kexp an hour with sanction. Soloing you probably wont notice 15%, what's 15% of 100 exp? 115 EXP isn't very noticable. You really only notice it when you kill fast over a long period of time. I wont exp anywhere else because the XP is so awsome.

In my opinion the only thing that really takes the enjoyment out of Besieged is lag, and lag only.

If you fight it just to get ISP then you are better off xping anywhere than doing Besieged, but Besieged itself is very fun... when I'm not lagging and watching my macros kick in a minute after I pressed them that is.

Seriously the concept is great, but lag can make it so you really have no idea what's going on, and watching you character and the poeple in your party freeze for a minute and then just blur fastforward while their HP is at zero isn't fun at all. But that only happens when theres 600+ people fighting Besieged on weekends, weekday besieged with 300 people are very fun.

Maybe SE should split Al Zhabi in 2 or 3 zones while besieged is taking place so its more manageable. Having 250 people per zone is good enough to give that army feeling without suffering because of all the lag issues having 700 people in the same zone brings.

Seriously the concept is great, but lag can make it so you really have no idea what's going on, and watching you character and the poeple in your party freeze for a minute and then just blur fastforward while their HP is at zero isn't fun at all. But that only happens when theres 600+ people fighting Besieged on weekends, weekday besieged with 300 people are very fun.

300 people weekday? Lucky you. On bahamut I have yet to see a Besieged that wasn't full, most of the time I can't even get in. But then again, maybe that's why we havn't lost the Astral Candiance yet.

LoL then i would just use nin. but actually i love to solo. its relaxing due to the fact i can go at my own pace. exp for 30 mins get up an do something else. due to my busy work/home schedule. its the perfect job for me. the only down fall is i get my mobs jacked from me.

Then this may be why you have a beef with ToAU. ToAU from what I understand was made mainly to help high level parties find better mobs to exp off of. And they did an awsome job of this.

Just something people don't seemed to have picked up on is that the Astral Candescence XP bonus *CAPS* at 15%, you have to of held it for a sufficiently lengthy time to recieve the full bonus.

No idea what it begins at.

As for the OP you obviously are going to find a way to whine whatever people tell you...

I have spoken to many BST's since the addition of the ToAU areas and many absolutly LOVE them. The extra auto refresh makes for no resting, and stacks with your gaudy harness. The imperial standing you recieve can be converted to a decent sum of gil and xp is considerably faster for both standard jobs and solo/duo/trio~ bst.

If you do not enjoy the new areas then fine, thats your opinion. But many people absolutley adore them.

Due to this, its worth their time to participate in besieged. Even though lag can be horrendous, i still find it enjoyable.

Well I think the person who said that SE wants people to lose the ass candy more or less got it right. They want people who actually enjoy playing the game to put the effort into keeping it in the city. Whether that means taking a team Mirror/NM hunting in beastmen zones or the 2-3 hour Besieged fights. And the reason they went for the 'fewer but stronger' mobs over the 'numerous but weak' set up is painfully obvious and it's almost comical people haven't spoken of it yet.

Besige lags badly enough as is with 300-700 people, how bad do you think it would be if there were 300-700 mobs to match them? Instead of sending mass amounts of lvl 50-80 mobs they can send fewer 80-90 mobs, which lvl 75s often kill anyway, to cut down on lag while keeping the challenge. ToAU was not made for low lvls nor does it cater to them. This was clear to me the second I stepped foot out of the city as my lvl 50 thf, checked the first mob I saw and had it con IT++.

When they did send low lvl Besiege Mobs in they were wiped out in seconds by high lvls who can one shot them. Then they slowly got stronger and higher lvl but still were wiped clean by the army of people waiting for them. So they made it so the beastmen will stand a chance againts the players and that the risk of losing the ass candy is very present. Your rewards for keeping the ass candy is very clear in the sanction bonuses you get while keeping the beastmen weaker.

They should add more besiege zones though, spread the load so more people can participate.

As true as this is, these areas are over crowded. I recently did a walk through of The Bay to just see who was still going there. I think I saw maybe 5 total parties in the area, and one of them was Lv.27~30. I love EXP'n in the new areas, but at the same time there were times I thought a trip to The Bay may have been better due to no competition.

Personally I've become addicted to the Refresh Sanction. I miss it when it's gone, but honestly it seems that I rarely find a party that isn't going to the expansion areas.

I would like seeing Signet effects being added the same way you have Sanction effects, even if they were lvl 50-60+ only or something like that, the regional Conquest is at a time of crisis right now because of how many people would rather XP in the new areas.

The amount of beastmen regions has increased too much and expansion areas that I want to think were supposed to lighten the load on xp places like sky have now become overcrowded.

(6-8 parties at Puk camp is just way too much)

This is very true! I've seen that kinda congestion at Mamool Ja staging point as well. Was floored to see that many people in one place, just not caring over camping the area. There are a few areas in the expansion that are out of the way, not well known spots with little competition.

People used to try and go and get a lock on the Sky Weapon camps, and now nobody ever goes there. I haven't been to sky for a TP Burn in well over a month now!

I didn't pay attention to all the Beastman controlled areas until after my party last night, I chocobo'd from Tele-Holla to Jugner only to find it was uncontrolled, so no OP Warp for me. There were a lotta areas like that now.
