    The settings are stored in hex in the registry, but you can choose to change that to decimal when you input it. Select the decimal radio button, put in your desired value and then change it back to hex before you press OK.

    I believe the textures are actually stored in a 1:1 ratio which is why often when you see the reg hacks they do say leave the background at 1:1, but since they get translated to 4:3 eventually it's true that doing it here won't hurt anything.

      Even if you force AF/AA in the graphics card driver, FFXI won't recognise it. The way the graphics engine is programmed is such that it renders using a method that does not benefit from AF or AA. Set the resolution to 640x480, take screenshots with and without AF/AA enabled in your setup and show me the difference. You should find that there will be no change (it will slow down your computer though).

      Some people have said that you can force a pseudo-AA mode by increasing the rendering resolution higher than the screen resolution but I personally can't notice the difference between 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 at a screen res of 1024x768.
