Character Development Comparison - ffv to ffxi

Would you say that ffxi plays similar as far as character development to an online ffv?

For those who have never played FFV, you basically choose a characters class, learn its skills and then can move on and change classes with the learnt skills as your secondary skillls.

UMM.... I'm one of those people who have never played Final Fantasy V. I want to get all of the FF games. I currently have 7,8,9, and 10. Ok...back on topic. From what you told me, yes I guess it seems like it would relate to Final Fantasy XI because of the class changes.

Final Fantasy V as well as Final Fantasy Tactics relates to Final Fantasy XI quite well. FFV had more classes, most are useful, some don't satisfy me... Final Fantasy Tactics seems the same way too...but I see nothing wrong with it being related (not that I am saying that there 'is' anything wrong)... It's all Final Fantasy and I love 'em all.

yeah ff tatics was a grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat game... i thought it was cool and i can see the relation in those two games. so i think its mostly just ff tatics with more stuff in it.
