Currently I'm at 43WHM so my peeves are mainly for exp parties rather than mission, endgame and BCMN parties.

1) Pullers who don't understand the concept of MP regen. I'm fine with you pulling if I have enough MP (Read: 33% MP at the very least) for the next mob but why would you pull when the freaking PLD has no MP? You are denying the PLD the chance to use +Emnity spells like flash and cure 3 and putting the entire party at risk.

2) Any sort of burn elitists. Our party is not set up for a burn strategy so why the heck would we risk it? Go make your own party if you want a melee/TP burn party and please leave us to exp in peace. Sorry but fun parties will ALWAYS be better than super exp gain parties and parties where everyone is having a good time usually means that everyone is working together well and exp will come fast anyway. Making friends is how you get more parties and how you get even more exp. Just because you want to hit X level by the end of the night doesn't mean you have to ruin a party for everyone else.

3) High level farmers on my RSE day. WHM scrolls for 40-50 can only be bought from an NPC and are 20k each that equipment AH's for anything from 30-100k and I only have 6 hours to find a key that has a 10% drop rate even with TH. Could you please leave the weak mobs for me so this WHM actually stands a chance of getting that key in 6 hours? If that is such an unreasonable demand for you then don't complain if I don't haste you when you walk by.

4) RDMs and SCHs complaining about gear costs. You guys have the cheapest jobs to level up and your only expensive scroll is Dispel at 60k. Please don't turn up to the camp in Lv20 gear then complain that gear costs too much. The entire Seer's +1 set costs less than 60K and RDM can quite easily just use cheap DD armour or the Conmbat Caster gear if you're in Windy.

5) RDMs that don't use stoneskin and/or warn the party when converting. I've seen so many RDMs die because they didn't use Stoneskin when converting it's just stopped being funny and I'm only at Lv43! Likewise the RDM converting without warning is probably the fastest way to scare the heck out of the rest of the party especially against a mob that uses AoEs.

6) Bad WHMs. No i'm not being stuck up and I'm not saying "OMGZ I TEH OOBAR WHIMMM!1111" but really, bad WHMs give WHMs in general a bad name. One party I recently joined was shocked when I started casting Erase, Protecra 2, Shellra 2, barspells and-na spells. They are WHM essential spells what the name of all that is good in the world are people doing without them? Another party almost had a heart attack when I turned up with +MP and +hMP gear.

We have a hard time competing with RDM and DNC for healer spots and you guys are not helping at all. Please stop making my job look bad to other players and get your act together.

7) PL dependant players. I'm talking about the people who flat out refuse to party without a PL. Sorry but if you still need a PL after the Dunes then you should be playing another job. don't get me wrong it's nice to have one in Qufim and the Jungles but why do you need one in the Crawler's Nest?

8) RDMs who don't refresh the PLD for obvious reasons. I always sub SCH and carry juice ingredients for quick after fight synths so not getting a refresh actually doesn't both this WHM. But please even if you only refresh one guy for the love of Altana refresh the PLD!

9) People who waste MP curing SCHs using Sublimation. I was actually thanked by a SCH when I DIDN'T spam Cure 2 and Poisona on her.

10) RDMs who turn up without hMP gear. You can use all the hMP gear I can equip and it along with cookies is all dirt cheap and you have a tiny MP pool. Refresh is NOT a replacement for resting and never will. Refresh is there so that downtime caused by resting is reduced and mid-battle resting is severely reduced.

11) WHMs that are afraid to use Benediction. There is a huge phobia of using that ability among WHMs yet I find it one of the best in the game. It actually doesn't produce any more hate then DS + Curaga and if your tank is good then it only usually takes one voke to get hate off you. If they somehow can't get hate off you then now you know one of the reasons why you get reraise. One of the best party wipe preventing combos is Benediction + Invincible since everyone gets a full heal and status wipe AND the tank can't be touched for a while.

On a related note any WHM/SCH should try Divine Seal + Penury + Curaga. It turns Curaga into probably THE most MP efficient spell in the game if you get the chance to pull it off. It also takes a lot of pressure off DNCs.

12) People complaining if I have to overcure the tank. I'm always very careful not to take hate and I always have RR, Aquaveil, Blink and Stoneskin up along with the relevant AoE buffs. However there will always be a situation where I have to overcure the tank or risk losing them. Maybe the tank is a NIN that keeps getting interrupted while recasting shadows or the tank is a PLD that is getting really unlucky with WAR mobs spamming Double Attack. Sure nobody likes losing the WHM but I would rather reraise and have a RDM-sized MP pool for 5 mins than have the entire party wipe on me purely because the tank was unlucky.

13) People turning up to level cap missions without gear. I make a point of refusing any invite to a level cap fight if I don't have any gear for it (Read: I can only do 30 and 40 level cap fights) because chances are you will die because I'm gimped. Shame that some of the people I've tried Garrison with don't think this way. Heck that is the sole reason that I only do Promy runs and Garrisons with my LS now.

Aren't you being sort of an anti-burn elitist? For some people, burn parties are fun parties. Your way isn't necessarily better. Just different.

Did you ask them to leave you the mobs, explaining why you are fighting them? It's not as though key dropping mobs drop anything too worthwhile anyway, so are you sure they aren't trying for a key as well?

Thats hardly specific to RDM and SCH. And those jobs aren't cheap to gear. At least, not when geared correctly.

That's just bad playing. Yes, it makes sense to use Stoneskin pre-Convert, but it's not necessary. You can just as easily move out of range of the mob and then convert if you prefer. I do it all the time.

If you have a RDM in your party post-40, chances are at some point they are going to convert. Stop freaking out about it. If they warn you, great. If not, it's not that big a deal.

A lot of your job specific complaints have more to do with bad players than bad [X Job]s.

alot of PLD's I PT with won't move towards the mages for {Ballad} or {Refresh}, they'd rather stand with the melees and get the +att/+acc songs.

rdm's that don't use refresh and rely on Ballad for MP regen. /sigh

ppl that think march + minuet is not a good option for a party of dnc/nin or nin/dnc ><

Personally, when I was partying at that level, I tried to convert in between mobs, so I rarely used SS.

Refresh is NOT a replacement for resting and never will.

People insisting on trying to apply burn tactics to party setups and mobs that can't support it is a common and frustrating problem. The biggest problem is that the xp/hr expectation has shifted so incredibly dramatically at high levels, I think people don't know how to cope with levels with more modest xp/hr potentials anymore. How do you bring yourself to care about the difference between 2k and 3k xp/hr and invest in achieving the latter when you're conditioned to expect 10k-30k?

You do realize you don't need to farm the key while the RSE window is open, just find the chest then?

This has been a major enabler in the elimination of the ability to expect basic competence out of players at high levels. Bought accounts contributes, but not nearly so much. I think PLing has advanced through the level range so steadily in part because of the way expectations changed with ToAU. PLs become the crutch that allow burn-only players to avoid having to cope with the limitations of that strategy in pre-ToAU camps. That said, they were already climbing through the levels before ToAU. However, PLs went from unheard of to rare in the 30s-50s pre-ToAU. They became ubiquitous after the meleeburn dominance became well-established.

It's very rare these days that I freak out when a RDM converts when I'm on WHM. Simply put: I know it's coming. I've been trained well as a RDM to watch people's MP bars as well as their HP bars so I can see when that RDM's running out of gas, and I can pretty much anticipate most Converts. I also keep an eye on MP pools nowadays for Devotion use, as well. So my advice to you Firewind is that you'll eventually get used to seeing it. Some RDMs will say "Convert" in their macro and some won't. When you start doing events like Dynamis, you'll know which ones in your ls do and which ones don't. But you will start to anticpate things like that and recognize tanking patterns and whatnot, all of which will make you a better WHM.

Those mid levels are frustrating, but you're 43. You get Regen II soon, and trust me, you're going to love it. Regen II pretty much sealed WHM for me as my new love in this game.

My pet peeve is Japanese people who are too naive/polite to react when they are blatantly being deceived by some douche in the party.

Example: pretends they can speak Japanese to get a party, even knows basic phrases to introduce himself, but then ignores every other thing said in the party, goes afk for 60 minutes, in a safe area, then when we have the decency to include him in the Escape out of the dungeon, he turns around and says "bye".
