Re: Could such a thing be more perfect?

Fenrir and Diabolos are dark elemental.

If they DO even add more, it probably won't be any from FFX. Most of the avatars in FFX were not in any other FFs (and the ones that were, are already in FFXI).

Give Pheonix's 2h a "Raises all PT members in range, no EXP Loss", and make a bloodpact "Rebirth" Lv.70; Raise 2 EXP Loss, no weakened effect.

Re: Could such a thing be more perfect?

See, Dolmen agrees with me. No Odin, no Bahamut, no Slepnir, no Yojimbo. However, I was thinking that Famfrit might actually fit as a melee avatar to give the SMN class some more power v.s. magic resistant mobs.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. Ever a few possible moves for him:

        Heavy Crush/Swing/Strike/Whatever:
The equivalant of the first melee BPs the avatars get.

        Flurry:
A multitude of weak physical attacks. Not very strong, but kinda a TP boost, if you where keeping Famfrit out like SE wants us to do.

        Temper:
        AoE Attack Boost/Double Attack+

        Kinda along those lines.

8? Do Alexander and Odin count as Celestials then? I thought it was only the elemental avatars.

Re: Could such a thing be more perfect?

Personally, I would love another light avatar, with two things:

              A) Raisega, doesn't matter how much exp loss, just...

              B) A Light-based DD pact better than Meteorite. Like, on a respectable damage level.

I don't think Raisega III should be the 2hour, because everyone would be like "OMG use your 2hr I don't want exp loss" when we're the main healer and one person dies.

Oh, and what would be really cool, is to get this avatar, you have to solo it. The whole "Get a burn party together or else" thing is kind of annoying. If you are forced to solo it, it will show that you are a good SMN by having it, not that you have a deep wallet to pay people.

Re: Could such a thing be more perfect?

                  Celestial Avatars:
                  Ifrit
                  Shiva
                  Ramuh
                  Leviathan
                  Titan
                  Garuda
                  Odin*
                  Alexander*

                  Terrestrial Avatars:
                  Carbuncle
                  Fenrir
                  Diabolos
                  Phoenix*
                  Bahamut*

                  *Not playable yet

Those are all the avatars in FFXI. Odin and Alexander have been listed as avatars from the very beginning (star char in Windy), but neither have been seen ingame (although there are many clues that seem to indicate they will be in Aht Urghan).

Phoenix, Diabolos and Bahamut were added for CoP. In the cutscenes, Tenzen refered to Carby, Fenrir, Phoenix Diabolos and Bahamut as the five celestial avatars. Diabolos and Bahamut are bosses in the game, and Phoenix plays a somewhat interesting role in the story.

As far as I know, if we ever get any more avatars, the next one will probably be Phoenix, Odin, Alexander or Bahamut. SE says they don't want to add Bahamut because "they would need to diminish his power". Personally, I don't care, I just want Bahamut, isn't a real FF game w/o him, but meh, w/e. Gather enough fan demand and SE will give in. I would gladly accept a smaler and weaker version of Bahamut that I can summon.

Besides from those four, I doubt they will add any brand new ones. There are 8 Celestial, 5 Terresstial, no more. That is, unless they make a whole new category of avatar, which I doubt will happen any time soon, as four missing avatars is enough for a while.

Personally, I want Bahamut and Odin given that the two of them are a couple of my favorites, and I'd like to see some brand new avatars for a change. With the exception of Garuda, all of FFXI's avatars are from older FF games. I think it's about time FFXI gets a few newcomers.

they may add Odin i dont know...but im 100% sure that if they add a avatar that was really big in the other FF games, they would reduces the size of the avatar and not make it so huge as they were in the other FF games.

I'd like to see Alexander perhaps, or one of the older summons we haven't seen yet, but the ones unique to FFX didn't really impress me. But maybe I'm just really judgy?

I know Odin is big, but bigger than Bahamut? I thought he wasn't much larger than a Marid? O_o

Having never seen him in person, I'd never know. But Diablos is pretty big, so if that's true, that's one big ass Dark Rider.

Mabye it was a glitch, but when I saw him on modelviewer he seemed roughly the size of Bahamut, mabye a little bigger... The point is he is definately bigger than the avatars we have now >.> so he would cause to much lag.

                                Double Post Edited:
Ok, this is really weird >.> I went into modelviewer and the ToAU mobs stoped working... when I look at the Odin .dat I get a Weeper, and none of the others work to... give me a blank, a random empty, the evil goblin with a Kraken Club, or the Dawnmaiden from ToAU... I downloaded the new list but It didn't fix it. Oh, it will also occasionally show me a bomb or snoll.
