Collosseum?

Anyone have any information on what this collosseum is going to be? PvP? PvMob? MobvMob?
i've seen the area set up for the collosseum in the Al Zabhi map, but i haven't done a lot of exploring in the new city. Can someone quench my curiosity on this matter?

i think its gonna be like colleseum in L2 and most other games

u go in and your in pvp mode and its a big free for all


i think pld/nin's would own and ev1 would gang up on blms

From the fan fastival I read that you'd take control of a monster rather than your normal character.

I would totally pay to do that!

I've also heard rumor that there will be monster party battles, kinda 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 pokemon style battles... mind you, this is sort of a "my brother's, friend's, uncle's, boss', dominatrix said this was true" kind of thing lol.

I was under the impression it was like past FF Collosiums. You solo vs a monster of your choosing. Granted it might be party based since FFXI is so extremly dependent on parties.

Wow, if it was a new form of PvP, that'd be awesome. I'm not sure about the free for all, though; it'd get pretty hectic.

Oh well, SE's already proven that nobody knows what they've got up their sleeve. I'm sure we'll all be surprised. I hope it's a pleasant surprise.

I would also be happy with some good ole one on one action, with a nice balcony for everyone to watch and cheer. Have some different level caps too, 20-30-40-50-60-75, and mebbie throw in some deathtraps for sheets and giggles :D

then again, doing mob party pokemon battles would be frikkin sweet too...

Its in Aht Urhgan Whitegate along with "The Pit" whatever that is.

Yeah, i saw it was there on the map, haven't gone over to explore it yet though. Can you even go into it and talk to the NPCs that are probably at some kind of front desk? Or is it still closed off to the public?

Its totally close off atm. Theres an NPC outside the Collesium you can talk to. Wide Scan shows NPCs inside, but they all have a generic name like "Attendent" I think it was. I don't remember.

hmm for what i understand it will be something like you have a pet monster and have it fight another monster, if you talk to the guy outside the collosseum he said that there monster vs monsters fight, anyway something along thoose lines

At FFFF they said it was for "Monster VS. Monster" fights. I don't recall ANY mention of "The Pit"



From talking to NPCs, it seems like they changed it and put MobVMob fights in The Pit, no clue what Colloseum is for

Those are probably the NPCs from Kokba Hostel, not Colloseum.

Either way, it's going to be something new and interesting.

There's probably going to be a few option, such as PvP, PvM, and MvM. There probably will be parties as well.

I can imagine watching MvM fights could get boring after a while.

Perhaps they'll have an option place bets on each mob?

Who knows, really.
