Return to vana'diel going to come back?

For personal reasons i want to temperaraly quit the game and dont want to lose my progress or equipment, will the "return to vana'diel" event come back next year? and if i wanted to not pay till i come back how to i make sure its not deleted.

I dont think anyone will know for sure if that promotion will return or not. However, next year is quite different than "temperaraly" quitting as you seem to want to. You can quit/not pay for up to 3 months and still revive your character

Nobody really knows. I suspect they only ran the Return to Vana'diel campaigns as a way to let players that quit come back and experience the expansions in case the new content revitalized their interest. I've heard rumors that ToAU will be the last expansion to FFXI, which wouldn't surprise me. If that's the case, then there will probably not be another Return to Vana'diel. As I said though, nobody really knows.

The only way to ensure your character doesn't get deleted that I know of is to pay your monthly fees. If you only paid for every 3rd month, that should work.

I know its more than temperaraly but it looked like the best solution. I guess i might have to do the 3rd month payment thing then but SE shouldent make me pay just to hold on to a character.

If they brought it back this year, chances are they will again next year.
