Though I don't get what Tanaka is raving on about porting from the PS2 to the PS3, unless he's talking a full conversion with redone art (that and there's no point since FFXI can probably be emulated on the PS3 with the application of a patch of some sort). It's an interesting comment he made about what they're up to, though SE's been hinting at some kind of follow up MMORPG to FFXI for some time.

FFXI "Sequel"?

Re: FFXI "Sequel"?
Though I havent read the article yet, I dont doubt SE is working on another MMOPRG for the ps3. While they do have Front Mission Online and Fantasy Earth, those games arent really gagued as RPGs in the same sense as FFXI. The PS3 and computers of that generation will be a bountiful platform to show off a brand new game

Re: FFXI "Sequel"?
in regards to FFXI on PSPwhat are they smoking?! crack?! of course there's a demand! However, his team has not had time to work on a handheld version of the game, and without evidence of overwhelming user demand, it seems unlikely that it will happen.
Thanks Yyg!

Re: FFXI "Sequel"?
For the PSP the primary design for it was mostly to make it were you can access the AH and deal with stuff there, nothing hugely impressive.Originally posted by AeniHow so? Are you serious or are you on high on something?

Re: FFXI "Sequel"?
Besides a missing L2+3 and R2+3 button, how much more difference would there be than playing with a standard PS2 Controller?
Even so, as Macht pointed out, you would be able to perform basic functions quite easily. Even now, you can use Video-over-Net to play FFXI on your PSP, albeit at a VERY sslllloooooowwwwww framerate.
If they made a FFXI-"extension" for PSP, that would rock.
Thinkabout it... crafting while u poop...
