It is infact becoming a verry popular thing.

The fact why people act so rude when they reilise that you are a male playing a female character is mainly because they what to have a relationship with you as a female and not a male. Many of those players actually have serius real life social issues and try and find theor lovelife somwhere ingame instead of their own lives.
I am not saying that all of those people actually do have problems but most do. It is also verry popular on MMORPG's tp have an Online GF/BF. Unfortunatly for you there is always that fractions of people who dislike your actions for they remind them thet MMORPG's(FFXI in this case) are nothing but a mere game that can be stoped with the push of a button and they will return to their uninteresting and twisted lives.

Dont be offended by them, they simply lack of itelect and understanding.

first of all, try to learn some decent english. i can understand ur angry about the people that pick on people that are female chars and male irl (i dont do that myself though, i just dont care) but what you are doing is jumping to conclusions. ur not going to tell me you traveled around the globe to speak different kind of people who are like that (cos such research is needed to make those conclusions). ur just some 10 year old punk who THINKS those people have social issues, but actually never ever talked to them outside the game.

for me. i think its a bit weird to play female characters if you are a male (but thats my opinion). but seriously i dont care if u do play female when ur a man irl.

I speek from my own experiance on iRO (international Ragnarok Online). iRO unlike FFXI offers the players a economic status and a sotial status. Most players on iRO that are above the age of 14 seek a friend, guild party member, ect in iRO to fulfill their inagme lives. There are always that part of the comunity that woud do anything to get their hands on a love partner. When they find out that their love partner is infact the oposit sex, it brings them to say bad thing to the person in question and somtimes lead to enemity. With their social ingame power, they are then able to screw you over in almost every aspect of the game.

I did not play FFXI long enught to acctually meet somone like that but the thread does not specify.

Maby you dont get those news from where you are from or perhaps you just dont read or listen to them but here we get a LOT of people stalking other ingame people for love issues. You dont need to know them in RL if you acctually play and chat with some of them for over 2 years. Did you talk to them outside of the game?

Im playing FFXI since somewhere early september2004 on the same character.. a Mithra called Sweetkitty. I am actually a girl, but sometimes I wish i would have chosen a male character. Just like you said, I really get harrassed a lot. Mostly by young perverted kids who see Vanadiel as one big cyberchatroom. People are always looking for dirty things on the internet.. Either in a chatbox or a game, it doesnt matter. I dont bother talking to people that I know are idiots.. But sometimes I can get really frustrated about things. I dont wanna make a big complain post here, because I like FFXI and I still play it.. even though I never got really far (Thf60 Drg55 Rng40). I just wanna try to explain how i feel about things on this game.

Ignoring people that are obviously idiots is not a problem, /blacklist. But sometimes people can be really mean. People do and say things they would never say irl, such as calling me names without even knowing me, just cause I messed up a pull or something similiar (i dont mess up many pulls btw ) Some things that are said can really touch or hurt me, even though i know the person is an idiot. On my server, there are a lot of people that dislike me, and a lot of them dont know me. A medium sized but decently popular linkshell's leader has made me known as a cyberslut and what more in his ls, i get random people asking for cybersex or to marry them cause they heard stuff about me. It doesnt effect me a lot.. but i do have my limits of being able to ignore things.

I used to "RP" like people call it... I had many boyfriends in game, and since a little while ago, I finally found out that it was all bullshit. Online relationships dont exist in such matter. Romantic trip through Bibiki Bay.. its just not real. So I stopped that all.. I have a boyfriend irl, and i can see things a lot more clearly then I used to.

Anyways what im trying to say is.. People on this game should be more carefull with what they say, cause it CAN hurt people. I just wanna play this game with my friends and level my character, without being harrassed so much. I considered a server change, and i know my best friends would come with me if i wanted it, but they prefer to stay on Remora.. so thats why im still here. I heard in December it is possible to do a server change for a little fee. When that is possible i will reconsider it again.. Im seriously starting to get depressed by it.

Ill stop writing here.. I feel very confused about this and I dont know how to explain or express myself . Im sure everyone got the point of what i tried to say.. if not, sorry to have wasted your time reading this >< One more thing I wanna say is.. Even people that look like arrogant jerks in this game, can be really sweet from the inside. I know people that are different at the inside then that they look like from the outside(behaviour). If i could talk to everyone on my server who hates me I would but my blist has more then 50 people now and I dont even remember everyone anymore, but i want it all to stop ><, just leave me in peace.

My conclusion was but sarcasam, thow I have edited it and removed it a while ago (over 1h) meaning that you where typing for over 1h. I have posted the conclusion, thow badly interpreated, to prove your contradiction towards yourself. For someone who complains about my english you shure dont write much bether, and not only that you write 6x slower.
All my arguments are whell supported by facts, facts from my experiance and ones I took from others as whell as public information.

I hope you knew what dyslectic meant when you used the word for it dosent seem to fit in the context. So please next time look up the words you use in a dictionary or at lest google them.
