    One important thing for users of any OS is that as soon as a security hole is found, and patched, make that update as soon as possible. The reason for this is some hackers will take the announcement of a security hole(and the subsequent fixing of it) to take advantage of the people who haven't properly secured themselves against it. It's basically broadcasting the security holes, so therefore its easier for hackers to find them. Always always update your software.

      I use Firefox too, so this isn't an attack on the browser. However, this is an attack on the ignorance of that statement. It doesn't matter what you use to connect to the internet, just the very fact that you are connected will give you a high risk of being infected with some kind of virus.

      I remember when Mac OSX users were taunting the general PC community on how secure they were. Most of them didn't realize that precisely because the whole situation wasn't publicly broadcasted that was the reason that Mac OSX never had issues with security intrusion and virii (And thus there were no real motiviation or incentive) Now, there's trojans even for Mac OSX users as well as just about any flavor of UNIX (and all offsprings) you can imagine.
