I fail to see how an operating system by itself could grant any kind of in-game advantages. The only way it's possible is if you wrote an app that runs "between" the OS and FFXI (like the windower, which is why SE has a problem with it. It's not because a windower itself is dangerous, it's cause programs like that are the starting points for 'real' cheats)
a 64-bit OS won't grant any advantages, unless the above applied, in which case the app is giving you the advantage, not the OS.
Windows Vista makes better use of the GPU? lol... Your 3d games/software already makes the best use of your GPU as it can. It's not like Windows Vista unlocks some hidden power your video card didn't know it had.
