I take it you were TheMom from Pak0?

It was Sasami that wrote the HP/EXP viewer. Both the seperate program and the patch for the client. She was a good hacker, lucky her and DarkSide weren't into anything malicious. She was alright though, she hosted my guild website on Castle Dragmire free of charge. She just had a bit of an ego when it came to Gravity.

Yes I am. I enjoyed Sasami and her site. I was always interested in her opinion and insights. It got to the point were most people became disenchanted with Gravity so I think Sasami had the right idea all the time.

Against the ToS = Punishable.

You aggreed to it to start with, so don't come and say "Well this is benign." It is upto SE to judge and see how Benign it is.

As for SE not taking actions to curb the events.

Rusty cap got nerfed (about a week to 2 weeks after it became wide spread).

NM Stealing just got nerfed via the /blockaid command, shortly after there was wide spread complain.

Change in the service agreement just recent got changed to make scamming punishable.

etc.

Changes does happen. Instead of saying "SE don't listen to the player base", let me ask you.. how many of you whistled blowed on Rusty Caps? If you didn't then YOU are also partially responsible for the current inflation. It isn't just SE whos responsiblity it is to make this game playable. You as a player have the personal responsibility as well.

As for the windower, I think it should have stayed the alt-tab program it originally was. The new plug-ins (so far) are nice additions, but until they are sanctioned by SE, they are still considered hacks.

As for Model Viewer and Log Parser, they don't interface with POL. They read files that is not part of the POL Process. They never interfact with POL while its running. Not in the same class as "hacks"

S.E does not act on any issue. you talk about rusty caps. but some players like my self knew about it long before S.E fixed it. an even though they fixed it they let fish bots continue months afterwards. as for mob stealing, thats been around since it came out. an now they finally attempt to fix it. 3 years later

TOS means nothing an S.E refuses to honor its rules themselves so why should we as paying constomers respect it. MPKers are never punished, no matter how many people spot it, report it, film it, frap it. a day later they are at it again. players who used other bot programs where never punished.

the point is this, S.E made the TOS. so techincally they are suppose to respect it as well. but they dont.

SE is not omnipotent. My point is if they don't know about it, then they can't do anything about it. So far all the 3 issues I read the most on the forums, SE shortly stopped it after it became widespread.

Since you knew about Rusty caps, did you write to SE to report it? If not, then you too are partially responsibile for the inflation. If you did write to SE about it, then /praise, you just might have been part of the process that got it fixed.

Mob stealing, I been playing his game since beginning of NA, and I haven't even heard of Cure/Invincible Mob Steal till around 2 month ago. So it wasn't as wide spread as maybe believe. Shortly after it becames household knowledge, /blockaid came out.

As for SE enforcing ToS. I have seen Fish Bot Banned. So it isn't that they don't enforce it. I also know MPKers who got banned. So enforcement does happen. I don't see where people get the SE don't enforce it attitude. You can try to run a fish bot at a popular place and see if you log in Banned and then we can see if SE enforces it.

If you expect SE to ban every single fish bot, then it is rather unrealistic. GMs are busy enough without strolling through every little nook and crany of every zone trying to catch bots. There is a question of fesibility. I have also heard of GM who showed up in Port Windy (during the height of the whole bot thing before the patch) and just jailed everyone, and then let out the ones that replied to him. So yes GM do enforce things.

I rarely hear of people getting banned for Windowers..It's kind of stupid. My friend Dusk uses it so he can RP on Yahell Messenger and Be on FF11 At the same time

You all know fact is: Windower isn't allowed by FFXI. If you don't stick to their rules, they can kick you too, they can do it anyway, it's their game. Before you paid, there were lots of little screens where you have to press "Accept." So now you're making a problem? Getting banned for using Windower is your own problem. Besides, you're stupid enough if you tell everyone you use Windower, when you know it's illegal. If you use it, keep it for yourself, and you most likely won't get caught.
Same works for bots. Only 2 ways to get caught:
1. Admitting it in any kind of chat (/p, /l, /s etc.)
2. A GM seeing you using it, like a speedhack that allows you to run fast.

Too hard to understand? Don't use anything illegal. Whether everyone likes it or not, POL makes the rules.

Yes.

I enjoy using the plugins TParty, Distance, EXPWatch and the programs ff11recast and ff11utusemi. Oh yeah, don't forget ChatMon so that I can leave my comp while seeking, go watch TV on my comfy futon, and know when I get a /tell because it says "Incoming Tell." How convenient.
