      From the official site:

Empty Notorious Monster quests (ENM quests) are events that pit your skills against ferocious opponents in various battlefields. These battlefields can only be entered with a key item obtained by completing a quest given by a certain NPC.

ENM battlefields differ from regular battlefields in the following way :

-An orb is not required to enter an ENM quest battlefield.
-No experience will be lost when KO'd within these battlefields.
-Characters succeeding in an ENM battle will be rewarded with large amounts of experience, as well as unique items.

In an ENM quest, experience points (or Merit Points) and items are obtained when the armoury crate is opened.

These rewards will be forfeit in the below situations :

      -A character is currently KO’d.
-A character is too far away from the armoury crate.
-A character is currently not in the party/alliance of the person who opened the armoury crate.

The amount of experience gained is not affected by the number of party members, so nothing is lost by waiting for the recovery of KO’d characters before opening the armoury crate.
Also, it is only possible to gain one level per battle, with any excess experience points being cut just before the amount needed to gain a second level.

      Undertaking an ENM Quest

To participate in an ENM quest, it is necessary to first speak with the relevant NPC.
If a character meets certain requirements, the NPC will offer the ENM quest.

      * Some NPCs offer several ENM quests.

      Restrictions

After undertaking a particular ENM quest and entering the battlefield, regardless of the success or failure of the battle, five Earth days must pass before the same battlefield can be reentered.

Check the amount of time remaining before you can re-enter each battlefield by talking to the following NPCs :

      Ophelia (Southern San d’Oria)
      Gregory (Bastok Mines)
      Istvan (Windurst Woods)
      Moritz (Upper Jeuno)

Please note that some ENM quests use the same battlefield and cannot be undertaken while this restriction is in effect.
ENM quests that are connected to other battlefields can still be attempted.

      * Battlefield reentry time begins counting down the moment a battlefield is entered.

      * Battlefield reentry time can only be checked for ENM quests that you are currently eligible to undertake.

      * Battlefields that exist in areas that become accessible by progressing in the Chains of Promathia story will become available as soon as those areas can be reached.

      Key Items

Special key items are obtained after undertaking an ENM quest and fulfilling the conditions set by the relevant NPC.
Each ENM quest battlefield requires a specific key item for entry. Even if all six members of a party have undertaken the quest, each member must hold the relevant key item in order to enter the battlefield.

      * These key items will be lost upon entering the battlefield.

The NPCs offering the ENM quests for each battlefield are as follows :

      -Promyvion (Holla, Dem, Mea, Vahz)
      Venessa (Ru’Lude Gardens)
      -Monarch Linn
      Morangeart (Tavnazian Safehold)
      -The Shrouded Maw
      Ghebi Damomohe (Lower Jeuno)
      -Mine Shaft #2716
      Twinkbrix (Oldton Movalpolos)
      -Bearclaw Pinnacle
      Zebada (Uleguerand Range)
      -Boneyard Gully
      Jakaka (Attohwa Chasm)

      Battlefields for ENM Quests

Battlefields, battle names, and the corresponding limits are as follows :

Battlefield - Battle Name - Restrictions

      Spire of Holla - Simulant - Level 30/ 30 minutes/ 6 members

Spire of Dem - You Are What You Eat - Level 30/ 30 minutes/ 6 members

Quest for Ulegrand Range ENMs (level 75)

Galka wants you to fetch some ice from a spring inside the Tousandfall Ridge. Spent about 5 hours so far on it and finally got this done.

        Major Problems:

In order to get to the destination, you need to drop off from the top of the Ridge (which means running all the way around PAST Jormungand, similar to how you drop down to get the map ???) and land in a cave.

The cave you want to get to is on the West Slope, and it's the Southern Cave. HOWEVER! If you try and drop straight down to it, you'll fall into a "trap" hole that takes you to a different cave and you need to start all over again.

The only way to get to the destination properly is to drop down the middle of the cliff, and then slide to your left about halfway down, and pray that you drop off in front of the cave mouth.

After a while we just gave up, and had a BLM up there tractor us as we killed ourselves at the base of the cliff.

After we all get the items, we can (hopefully) do the actual ENM Battle.

Boneyard Gully is pretty simple to get the item first you have to climb up the mountain in Attohwa at the top like you would for CoP, except this time there's no timer

Should the same time of Promyvion PT setup be used in the Promyvion ENM?

Any news on the armory crate items?

Well, after a LOT of headaches we figured this out:

After getting the key item for Ulegurand Range (sp?), You can access the different battlefields by using the different BC entrances. We were unable to locate the "Brothers" BC.

We decided to do the "Holy Cow" BC because we figured it would be against a Buffalo and we were correct.

This Buffalo hit HARD, around 800 damage on a normal hit to mages, and 450ish damage a hit onto PLD. Fortunately he is easily kitable, and there is no EXP loss so you can raise / hymnus your way through the fight.

Each member of the party was rewarded with 4,000 EXP, and a single piece of cassia lumber was also found.

Now that we've done the initial quest, we can do this BC once eveyr 5 days, and it only takes about 30 minutes to group up, head out, and clear the BC.

To do this, you need to trade a "Florid Stone" to the mithra behind the counter at the Inn (Tenshodo HQ)...

Me and my friend, Zillorge, were able to get these from Diremite Assaulters in Pso'Xja in the uncapped tower closest to the Nue spawn, while hunting for Chips.

After trading the stone to her, I got some key item to go do the ENM fight, which I probably will never get around to doing.. heh

Boneyard gully was pretty easy. We beat it with a 5 man PT (PLD, MNK, BLM, SMN, WHM) in like 14min 11secs ><; You just have to make sure you can deal lots of damage in a short period of time, because it digs underground and you have to run around the place looking for it/it's babies. We got a galateia (item for whm jse)

After that we tried the Rabbit one in bear claw... This one was pretty tough... There's one NM rabbit, but within a minute, it pops out like 6 other rabbits. Needless to say, it caught us off guard and I ended up kiting the rabbits most of the time lol. We were able to kill the NM, but we couldn't handle all the rabbits at the end. (We couldn't sleep them ~~). PT was the same as the boneyard gully one except with one more WHM...

So far I've completed two EMN missions--Promy-Dem and Promy-Mea. I'll show the strat for Dem, cuz I'm lazy and the strat is almost the same.

For Dem, this was the PT setup, done with my LS:
Nin (myself), Rng, Mnk, Smn, Whm, Blm.

Bascally we prepped just like we would if we were attempting to fight the regular boss, so everyone had hi-pots, au laits, drinks, food, etc. Like the Dem boss, the ENM fight was almost laughable. After the initial buffs (previous ones are removed as you enter the BC), I pulled with Kurayami, then voked. There are some tricky moves the boss pulls, which includes an ability to heal itself as well as spawn babies at ~50% health. The extra pops were the only thing I was worried about (and wasn't prepared for, other info suggested that it didn't make babies o.O) which ripped up my utsusemi. It also uses an ability that adds MP drain to its regular attacks.

                            In Summary:
-Come prepared as if it was a regular promy boss
-Any "regular party" setup is possible
-Mnk and Smn 2hr at 50%, Rng didn't use EES ("died too fast")
-Makes babies at 50%, which die when the ENM does
-Adds MP Drain to regular attacks
                            -Can heal itself

                            Rewards:
                            -3000 exp
                            - 1 Burning, 1 Fleeting ($.$), and 1 Malevolent Clusters (like crystal clusters, you use them and they break into a stack of their respective memories)

Make sure you talk to the NPC at the zone of Ru'Lude Gardens for your key items, thats the only way to gain access to the ENMs. Good luck!!
                            "Here lies the fearless knight,
                            Whose valor rose to such a height;
When Death at last had struck him
                            down,
His was the victory and renown.
He reck'd the world of little prize,
And was the bugbear in men's
                            eyes;
But had the fortune in his age
To live a fool and die a sage."
