  • Call for Help Party / Alliance Bug

    If a party or alliance calls for help on a monster, all members of that party/alliance are flagged as "Help Callers" until said monster is defeated.

    If a player flagged as a "Help Caller" leaves their party/alliance and joins another one, upon entering the new party it will automatically Call for Help on that parties monster(s), as long as the previous help called monster is still alive.

    Need to do some more testing to figure out exactly what conditions trigger this (i.e. having to attack a monster first to auto-help it, whether it's party or individual based, etc).

    This bug has caused Tiamat to Auto-Help for us for the last 4 times we've fought him, because during the fight we swap out parties to/from main alliance to do skillchains. Occassionally one of the TP parties would be out of main alliance, call help on a TP monster, and when they re-joined main alliance Tiamat would turn orange automatically.

    Now that we know what triggers this bug, we fought Tiamat again and killed it in slightly over 2 hours.

    If anyone has additional info or can do some testing regarding this bug it would be appreciated.

    AHA! That's why Tiamet went up for help when we fought him last weekend....we had him @ 80% and just gave up when that happened.

      Nice info and congrats on the win... I read in your LJ about the probs you guys had been havin with the CFH bug and glad you were able to bypass it this time

        When I've been in the God alliance that has CFH vs Kirin and then swapped to the Kirin alliance while the god is still allive with CFH, Kirin doesn't get the CFH error.

            If Tiamat is called for help, simply leave him like that for a few minutes without attacking him. Eventually it will go back to yellow. However, this means you can't provoke or use any abilities on Tiamat. You simply have to keep taking damage from Tiamat until it goes back to normal.

              That's easier said than done that means no stunning firaga III and inferno breath. Also if mages try to cure tanks and such in main pt while you wait for him to go unclaimed they get agro. In the end I'm not even sure if a mob goes yellow if it keeps hitting you.

              BTW: Nice job on the second fight Faranim, was was watching from Nelaya's screen.

                Last time I checked, the only way to un-help a monster is to let it regen to full HP and lose all aggro to it.

                Theres obviously more involved to this than just calling for help on a monster and joining another party. Figuring out the exact conditions to trigger this may be a bit tricky.

                Your best bet is to just have a dedicated player who calls for help on monsters, to remove any possible chance of screwing up the fight.

                    you can remove CFH by everyone who was in the alliance at the time relogging, done it vs hakutaku and various other NM to lose the CFH status.

                    Most fun moment doing it, myself+brd+whm vs hakutaku while everyone else relogged :-]
