Multiple Dark Spark quests?

Here is my question/problem. I activated my DRG AF quest for the gloves (dark spark), I didn't get any further than my Boyhda (tab) coffer key (couldn't find a coffer after 2 hours ; ; ).

With My RDM will I be able to open the Dark Spark quest with my current completion status for DRG?? IF not how can I stop it without doing it for my DRG?

My feeling would be once you've activated the coffer quests you can swap and change jobs. However, I do recall a friend complaining they couldn't get their whm gloves because they'd already accepted it on another job. I'd be interested in knowing the answer to your question as well.

You need to finish the Gloves quest for your DRG (get the item from Boyahada, go to jeuno, kill DS, go back to jeuno and get the gloves) before you can open your coffer for RDM (is it Eldieme Necropolis?)

You don't need to get full DRG AF, just the gloves.

You will have to complete the DRG gloves quest before you can open RDM's. Get gloves, talk to Guslam, buy the toolbox, talk to Borghertz, kill DS + get shadow flames, talk to Borghertz again and get gloves. *Then* you can change to another job and talk to Guslam again to open another AF gloves quest. After that you will be able to get either RDM or DRG coffer AFs, if you are that job and at the right coffer.

The Boyahda key is really easy to get (drops from most exp mobs there), so I assume your problem is you can't find a coffer because they are overcamped or you don't know where they are.

First of all since you have a RDM leveled, I suggest subbing it for sneak (or just going as RDM, you can go as any job since it is a quest AF and not a direct-from-the-coffer AF). It will save you a lot on silent oil. Aggro monsters in the tree include crabs, crawlers, goobbue, and in a few places malboros, all of which aggro sound. Invis is not necessary in the areas where coffers spawn. Bark Spider, Death Cap, Mourioche, Moss Eater don't aggro at all so you don't need any stealth around them.

Go at a time of day when few people are on - 3 pm EST on a weekday is good, if you can. This will cut down on the number of other people looking for coffers - especially BST like to hang out near coffer spawns while they solo, since they get a ton of free keys.

Get a map of the coffer spawn points online. The best treasure map site I know of is

They have maps for all areas with treasure chests/coffers, except they don't have Promathia areas yet. Since the maps are based on the in-game maps, some points show up off the map - these are in secret tunnels not marked on the map.

Let me add a few questions of my own:

1. For the coffer AFs, we just have to go as the purposed job, right? ie MNK open eldieme coffer = MNK AF, and RDM open eldieme coffer = RDM?

2. And I can start another job's AF once I have obtained the gloves for my current job?

Yeah I have my key but after a few hours of camping it I decided that I would come back later. I didn't know however that I could go as RDM, which would be nice to do.

ok I ventured out to Boyahda Tree last night and got my coffer and am now ready for DS. My final question is can I fight DS as a RDM, get the flames, then change to DRG to finish up in Jeuno?
