  • Looking for Party? edit Comments

    Been reading this at Allakhazam and i found that it's more or less correct.

    Please, use the "edit Comment" while looking for a Party.

    Read the thread if you got the time and you'll find it right that most JP player do use these comments while NA players don't and at the same time they're bitching about waiting to long for a party or JP players not inviting them.

    Let me tell you one thing, i find that JP players are playing more efficient. They do use the in-game tools to get a party, they use food to enhance their characters. Sure, NA's doing that as well but with like 70% less of a chance.

    Just as stated in this thread some (I'd even say "most") NA players need to change their attitude. You're not the domain in this game here, no one runs after you like a mad man to get you grouped if you don't put some effort into it.

    Good mini rant from my side i guess but i'm sick of people blaming the JP's for everything they can't get to work. I can't stress it enough, you're not the MMORPG center of the world.

    While Blizzard thinks so, some companies don't.
    Thanks for reading - flame away~

    When I have my flag up seeking group I try to edit my search comment whenever possible, but is there a way to save it so you don't have to do a new one everytime you LFG? It gets rather annoying...

    Usually I put something like:

    34 {Red Mage}/17 {Black Mage} {Looking for Party}
    @4700 {Home Point} {Jeuno}
    {Warp} {Dispel} ok
    {Japanese} {English} ok

    But often I forget to do it, and I end up not having the comment there because it wont save. The only alterations you would really have to make would be the TNL part.

      Sadly it doesn't save =/
      ... may be a reason for people skipping to edit it all the time,
      but then again; shouldn't complain about not getting invites.

        I agree in the sense that if you don't put in the extra minute or spend the extra gil to get good food for your job and set comment(when looking for pt) you can't expect to get the kinds of results you may be expecting. Last night i got invited to a PT with PLD, BLM, WAR, DRK, THF, and myself(WHM) but this was the first time i have been in a good exp party in a long time, somewhere around 5.5k per hour. Everyone had food buffs and current weapons/armor/spells. It seems to me like to these new players it's a race to 75

            really i dont believe the search feature plays a big advantage of finding a pt or not. i had a search comment up for 14 hours straight with the auto translator saying,an at the end it said @300. an i waited so long to get into a exp group.

            i have come to believe it is your lvl. an the location of where you are seeking a party, i have notced that players who camp jeuno are more likely to get into a pt then someone like me. who will take the d time to farm. an make gil. also if a player were to camp rabao, an you were lvling in quicksand caves, if he was a job class you wanted. you would take him over another player of that type farming in pashlow..why cause he could get to you quicker an. would cut d time down.. an you can get back to making exp ..

            last thing i noticed is if you dont level with your same lvl group. it may take a few days or so to find a new one. say your 52. an take 3 day of, an now everyone you knew was 55-56 lvl. you must now wait for the next group of people around lvl 52...

            lol but hey who knows. maybe its the fact im a drk. an some other drks have given us a bad name. that cause us such big down time. maybe its the fact that im mainly on when the mass majority of players are jp. and they rather choose someone who can type back to them.. while best i can do is read it.. or maybe it is time location, an lvl. that slows me down..

            or it could be the fact that im not a blm/whm who has yet the even reach a higher lvl. let alone a higher lvl with a advanced job. look me up when you hit mid 40's an tell me how it goes. hit mid 50's an tell me how it goes. with finding a pt. go farm someplace far away from popular lvl zones, an then tell me how easy it is to get pt invites with a cheesy search comment. cause odds are you will just end up like the rest of us...

              A lot of people do have search comments but they are utterly worthless.

              Sorry but:

              {Japanse} / {English} PT Ok ^^
              {Please Invite Me.}
              {I do not Speak any Japanese.}

              Isn't telling me a whole lot about you. Since you used the auto-translator for everything I think it is safe to assume you are English speaking... not sure why 90% of English only speakers have that in their comments on my server.

              What food do you bring? Weapon types? How long do you have to PT? What is your TNL? What alternate subs do you offer. Any other good stuff, like you have +50acc or something

              If you have crummy comments might as well not have any...

                hahahah, so true... Best bet if you cant get an invite is MAKE a PT. A lot of people complain but they are too afraid to even try to make one.

                  People also need to make more use of the "/sea all #-# inv" function.

                  Party leader: "Oh noes, there are no 43-44 PLDs looking for a group in all of Jueno, we are doomed!"
                  Me: "Umm, there's one our level in Bastok, lets ask him!"

                    I am 64 Black Mage and I usually Put:

                    {@____} {I want Exp Points}
                    {Elemental Magic} {Skill} ___

                    I dont see what else a Black Mage could put in his comment except things like Ice Staff and Dark Staff... now that I am 32 WHM I need to buy Erase so thats another thing I can put in to get more invites I guess... x.o;

                    Lately I've been finding that making Parties myself has payed off very nicely. When your a 64 BLM Hume competing against 3 Taru 64 BLM you kinda have no choice

                      As a party leader, I will always choose somebody with a comment over somebody who doesn't have a comment. If they took the time to make a comment (which takes soooooo long. ) then they probably took the time to get good equipment, food, ect.

                      Things that are good to be in your search comment:

                      Your @, most important
                      What weapons you can use (generally only for WARs and DRKs)
                      If you're NIN or /NIN, what Utsusemis you have
                      What language you speak
                      What GC (gate crystals) you have (though, unless you can say 'all', this takes up a lot of space :sweat: )
                      What subjobs you have avaiable
                      If you eat food or not
                      Where your homepoint is

                      I really wish SE would make a bigger comment area. 3 lines is no where near enough room. :dead:

                        I agree the example you gave is useless, but mine is enough info I think. It has my TNL, it indicates that if you need me I have Warp, and HP in Jueno so I can get there in 2 secs. It indicates Dispel, so we can fight Crawlers/Beetles with no trouble.

                        The only thing I really don't have is my stats/weapons, but stats are obvious, and weapons are irrelevant for a mage. I don't have alternate subs, so no reason to list any. I don't know how to put food in autotranslator. "Apple" and "Pie" arent there :p

                          Yeah I'm beggining to think the Japanese PT OK comment I use is worth next to nothing. I am working on a new one, I should be swimming in invites with this

                          BARD! BARD! BARD! BARD!
                          [English] [Bard] [Invite me Please]
                          I promise to get your JP only party killed ^^ <(" )>

                            What my comment always is, except when I change jobs or @xp. I always put Japanese and English because I'm fine with either. Sometimes I switch that line out for my +Stats, but its depressing for me to look at...lol.
