Best job for galka

What are the best job combinations for galkas and why? Also, if I wanted to be a galka samurai, what would be the best sub?

Black mage by far!
You might have a bit less mp than other races, but you have lots and lots of hp and high vit so you won't die when the mob hits you!

Really, there is no question about it. Almost every galka goes black mage and so should you!

Galkas make the best MNK's, trust me. Other jobs they excel at are WAR, PLD, and DRK.

Good subs for a SAM are WAR, THF and RNG

Dark Knight
Samurai
Paladin (Might need some mp equips)

Basicaly Galka is a fighting class or tanking class. They are one of the wrost mages for aglie jobs.

Although eventually Galka characters can be good at any job, you will probably want to start out as a melee fighter like Rico said. After you have some experience and some cash you can go back and be a very successful mage. Proper use of food and juice can negate the terrible mp pool Galka's have.

Galka do have the 3rd best agility in the game, and Agility affects such things as Ranged Attacks and Evasion. So don't laugh at Thrillhouse when he says that, because Galka can make pretty good blink tanks...especially when the blink falls off and they need to take a hit.

If you'd really like an interesting challenge go Rng. With their high strength they'll do a pretty good amount of damage, and hit more often early on before all the Ranged Accuracy gear than an Elvaan. And do more damage than a Taru or Mithra who have the best Agility.

My point was that it doesn't really matter which job you pick as long as it's not a mage. Galka does fine as any melee and it's quite obvious. Just pick the job you like the most, not the one that suits your race.

Actually, I was planning on picking up WHM at some point. And I'm not joking. The cost of MP gear for a Galka WHM to work out to get up to 50 is mainly due to the necessity of 2 Astral Rings.

When I get my PLD up to 70ish, I'm going to give it a try

A properly equipped Galka can have more MP than an Elvaan. If you are a member of the cooking guild, you can make juice to keep yourself refreshed for the many horrible levels till your RSE.

Just to put things in perspective... I'm estimating a Galka WHM/BLM to have max MP of _____ at these levels:

10: 190
20: 277
30: 379
40: 494
49: 555

In your 50s... you'd need a Serket ring... and that Desert Stone which would set you back 2-3 million gil. But, that would give 647 MP @ 51.

Anyone that has grouped with a WHM knows that a large MP pool does not equal good WHM.

If a Galka were serious about being a WHM he could do it. But probably not as his first job. Those 2 Astral Rings make ALL the difference in your trek to 50.
