  • Ifrit's Cauldron flame sprouts

I have been exploring Ifrit's Cauldron recently (trying to find the mining points), and I came across a couple of walls of flame that I can't get past. They're called "flame sprout" when you target them. Is there any way to get past those things? I've explored the entire area I can access without going through the flame sprouts and only found one mining point.

What do I have to do to get past those flame sprouts?

or, wait. yes, WAIT. it'll naturally disappear form time to time without having to trade ice clusters.

It dissapears like once every 5 minutes. I find trading ice clusters to it difficult because of the bomb, but I did see one experienced miner do it with relative ease. Just gotta practice it I guess. I just stay a bit back from the spout, waiting for it to go down. If my sneak/invis start to run off just go the other way, so you dont get aggroed by magic.

It disappears every three game hours.

Wouldn't mine there around level 48 though unless you have a death wish

Oh, I'd never go there with my main job...

            Thanks for the help, everyone.

Yeah, just wait for them to drop. If you're inexperienced at the area, I would suggest you study the map, and stick to certain areas, and get used to that before doing a full map run.
As well, you want to be prepared. Bring a couple stacks of Prism Powder and Sneak Oils just to be safe, and make sure you cast magic in obscure spots where bombs aren't near, or in vicinity to aggro.

Mining there can have fantastic rewards, but is rather risky, both with the risk of death and loss of Gil.

Sneak/Prism can get very expensive overtime if you don't find very many Adaman Ores or Orichalcum Ores(I see you're on Kujata, they go nicely on our server. =)).

If you don't want to use Sneak Oil/Prism Powder, save your cash and all, you can use WHM and Sneak/Invis in certain spots. I recommend staying with a certain pattern, and not exploring the whole area for mining points, though, because of the risk(if you lose Sneak/Invis in bad spots, you're pretty much dead).

I mined there for a few days, and really got to know the map well. It gets really depressing when you don't find anything at all, though. One day I couldn't even find a mining point(must have been hopping to places on other side of map or something). XD

              Oh yeah, the more people at Ifrits, the better. So you can bring an experienced party or alliance and have a mining frenzy. Mining points will jump around often, and people will get to mine more in general. Only problem with an alliance in that situation is if you have too many people, then you start to have competition. ;;

But if everyone sticks to their appointed mining spot, everyone'll get a turn, and hopefully you reveal enough Adaman ores to make it worth your while. =)

That's rather hard to pull together though, so just hope there's an unusual amount of people mining at random there.

I went in there my first time on Monday...bought a stack of sneak/invis items and started exploring the map. I found two mining points total, got two of those lettered eggs and a flint stone. Curse that Easter event, those could have been adaman ores!

It does seem a little tricky to navigate, but I guess I'll learn my way around eventually. I went in with my level 30 Monk job. (I don't use that job anymore, so I don't mind how much XP I lose) I also have a level 26 WHM, but I use it as a subjob for Bard so I don't want to lose much XP.

I may try going in with WHM and just using the spells, but I have a feeling I'm going to aggro a lot of those damn bombs, heh.
