      lol funny stuff.

if you have someone in your pt who will suddenly warp2 you outta the blue, you may want to reconsider why you have that person in your pt in the first place.

and no, warp2 doesn't need an auto-accept feature. i would suggest perhaps a longer casting time for these kinds of nuisances.

Thank you. There are too many positives to Warp 2 to change it. If you find this happening to you, as Asharu said why is that person in your PT in the first place? As GMs & SE says, its your choice on which party you join. If they warp you out, then its partially your fault.

Oh and btw. This isn't EQ. Quit comparing it.

Inviting the person to your party is the "Accept" button
Dont blame the BLM blame yourself or the friend, whoever let him in the party. Its a chance you take if you dont know the person youre inviting. Sure it sucks but its your own fault, not everyone are angels.

Better somebody warp 2 you out then you warp out ^^

I was helping a group in Valkurm because the guild in selbina was closed. Due to teh fact i was there, they pulled Pugils instead of clippers and i healed the main tank. So due to the fact i was healing with the menu i klicked "up" one time to often and landed at the end of the spell list You can guess what spell that is, right. I warped away at the beginning of the fight against the pugil

Thats one of those storys you better never tell anybody...

@Topic: Dont think you need a accept button. It will happen maybe one or two times in your FFXI career.

I have encountered a few less than kool people IG so far. Too bad people have to be this way, but Warp II on the unsuspecting "friend" is rather amusing.

Also, off subject, Faluzure, you're right, this isn't EQ but it is a mmorgp so compareing the two is going to happen. I played EQ and it is a very similar game, pros and cons to both. Personally I would love it if ffxi would encorporate some of the good things from EQ. Dont get me wrong though, FFXI is a much better game to start with and doesnt need any adjustments.

While I can't say whether this post was helpful or not, I do know one thing: you just ruined at lot of people's games.

By posting this, you have given this plan to every half-wit BLM that wants to hurt people. We have people training gobs and mpking people all over the place. You're just throwing fuel on the fire.

It happened. It sucks. But by putting this idea on here you're educating the bad as well as the good.

The next time someone gets warped 2ed from an NM or an avatar battle, it may very well be because you gave them the idea. Think about how angry and upset you were when this happened to you and now realize that you may be partly responsible for this happening to someone else.

I know you didn't intend it, but it happens. If someone broke into my house I would not put exactly how they did it on a public message board for fear that some other person might follow the same plan.

You all make good points, I could personally sway either way I guess, but what really gets me is that, had he decided to do so, he could have reported me for my harsh language following the event and I would have gotten in trouble for it while he walked away. Something is screwy there.

Exactly. Raise has an accept because the caster doesn't need to be partied. There's a lot of stuff someone in your party can do to piss you off or get you killed. Warp 2 is just one.

taodyn, i have no idea where you came up with that response. Yes, maybe some other BLM will now warp someone away after seeing this. But based on this post, several of us have all posted our experiences with this, so i don't think a giant secret has been exposed.

As for your example about not telling people how your house was broken into for fear that the method would be used on someone else. What if you didn't tell anyone, then your neighbor was broken into the same way. wouldn't you feel equally bad for not telling someone how to prevent this? Microsoft finds a weakness in their OS. They tell the world about it and offer a solution. In the case of FFXI, the more people that are aware of this practice, the better. Now they are on guard for it and maybe a little careful about joining unknown pt's.

                        Taodyn,
Yah I agree with the other post about ."where did you come up with your post?"

IT doesnt take a brain child to figure out how to act like a butthead with the spell. Once they get it there gona already know how to piss others off anyway. Same goes for Ninjas..
Ive watched one guy train many smithys and 2houred next to a PT. Needless to say that pt was in trouble.

Its not adding fuel to no fire. And it doesnt take an I.Q. above 100 to figure out how to be a mean person.

GMs only major consern really is if your character gets stuck somewere that it should not of been able to go in the first place, If a person is constantly using obseen or offensive language, If a person has an obseen or offensive name, If a person is using any 3rd party program that gives them an advantage over other players (It's illegal in the PC version because it gives the PC an unfair advantage over the PS2 gamers), and last on their list is to handle any characters who's actions are constantly causing problems for other gamers. That is the whole purpose of why they have accept buttons for raise and trator but not for warp, warp II, or teleport.

Not only is joining the party your own consent to allow them to use any spell that is party related that they choose, but if you were to continue to go back to that party for them to just do that same thing to you again is your own consent to that punishment.

The raise and trator had to have an accept because if it didn't it could easily turn into a Diablo type nightmare were some jerk goes and raises you gets you killed and repeats. At higher levels that means in a short time they could kill days or months of work you put into that character.

Getting warped in that fashion though extreemly annoying is just part of creating the community. You just have to have the jerks to make it all run, and it's always a celebration when you see those jerks get what's coming.

The thing that seem to be of greater consern is someone training monsters and using warp to release these monsters on a party. That seems like a more troublesome problem that needs to be corrected.

Simply put Warp II and Teleport it's problems can be solved very easily, maintain your blist with the jerks that do that to you so you can avoid them. Warp II and Teleport would be more of a problem if they were able to use it on anyone and not party only, then it would warrant the need of an accept function.

                            Disband Macro

When i see a BLM using WarpII in a PT i hit that macro as fast as possible. Some members look at me like "D00d r u stup3d?" and they disapear in the twinkeling of an eye. i dont remember this macro, but ask a brand new player for it since its a default macro.

I like that D2 (dezone 2, warp 2) has no accept function. Sometimes when everyone is tired or sleepy and someone falls asleep while waiting for something (happened before, many times) D2 is a good way to send the person back safely.
