    /targetnpc...I use this, like most people I assume, when camping NMs mainly. I was just wondering is there was anyways to make it better. You see, I was camping Mee Deggi the Punisher earlier, along with 7 other people. I know that there really is no polite or curtious rules when camping NMs, it's who ever gets it first. But because of where Mee spawns, with lots of Yagudo and Crawlers around the pedistal, I've found that my normal macros of;

    /targetnpc
    /ja "Chi Blast" <t>

    or

    /targetnpc
    /ja "Provoke" <t>

    aren't very efficient, and I'm guessing this might be the case with other NMs. I was there for him spawning twice, and didn't get him either time, mainly because I was too busy trying to make sure I didn't target anything else around. Usually it comes down to just finding a good spot to stand from my experince, but maybe there are other ways to make camping better/easier. So really, I was wondering if,

    #1 There was a way to make the targetnpc macro only target a specific creature when it spawns.
    #2 If there was a way to only target creatures with in a certain range.

    I think either of those would help, though I doubt you can actually set them up that way, it's worth a try asking though. Any advice on this matter would be appreciated.

    Well there with my experience on the same one me and a ls member stood on each side of it along with 5 others, well they ended up leaving afterawhile because both of us would get all the mobs up there.

    He was using
    /targetnpc
    /ja Provoke <t>

    And I was using

    /targetnpc
    /ma Stun <t>

    using these just constantly spamed the macro. yeah on occasion I pulled up a cutter or what ever the crabs there are called if it was close enough the spell would hit it. The macro is pretty effective on mobs. now if your not spaming and do so right when you see it then that may be why your not getting the pull. its a vicious race for the items. Good luck on your hunt.

      I think the only reason why I don't think I can just spam the macro when camping Mee is because of targetting things over the other side of the court yard constantly. I don't mind pulling a crab or yagudo on occasion if they come close, it happens. But it's just annoying targetting things that are only just in my vision range, just because they happen to be on screen. =/

          /targetnpc is the comand to target the NEAREST npc doesn't matter what. So hitting something like TAB or 0 on the numberpad has the similar result.

          If you are hunting NMs I suggest just using /target and put the NMs name in that you are targeting. So do something like:

          /target "Spiny Spipi"
          /ja "Chi Blast" <t>

          If you want a macro that lets chose an NPC you want to attack before the job ability or spell is done use:

          /target <stnpc>
          /ja "Chi Blast" <t>

          The <stnpc> is Select Target NPC and what it does it will bring up a blue arrow over the nearest monster if it's the one you want just hit Enter and the macro continues and uses the job ability or spell on that monster. If it isn't the monster you want use TAB or 0 on the numberpad to select the one you want and then hit Enter.

            Hmmm, I didn't personally think it would work doing;

            /target "Mee Deggi the Punisher"
            /ja "Chi Blast" <t>

            But it's worth a try. Thanks.

              Well, it didn't work. I guess I'll just try the select target NPC one, eventhough I'm guessing it's going to be a little slow.

              I have the feeling I'm going to be camping Mee Deggi for a very long time. >_<

              How does everyone else camp NMs that spawn in the same place every time? I really want to figure out how to use my normal /targetnpc macro with out targetting all sorts of creatures around that I don't want to target, and aren't even in range. I don't suppose using 1st person view would make a difference would it? =/

                Simply change your POV where you won't find any other NPCs... If you camp w/ a friend you can use eachother to 'obstruct' the view of other npcs.

                  Ok Yeah the /targetnpc does target things in few across the screen from you too. but what that does is targets the closest monster to you. Just keep spamming it and if one pops in front of you that will be your target not the one across the screen cause it is not the closest target anymore.
