How do you make money fishing??

Right now im a lvl 20 fisherman. I am wondering at what lvl you need to be to start making real gils fishing. And no I dont want an answer like "fish for moat carp, I make 4k a stack", thats garbage.

I do not like to farm for gil, hunting for hours waiting for a NM to spawn only to be STOLEN by a high lvl japanese players sucks.

So I turn to fishing for gils. moat craps was good gil till lvl 11 but since I capped out on moat carps, I had to fish other fish to catch. Yellow globes in qufim only sell for 2K a stack :/ but it wasnt so bad since I could fish them with my sabiki rig.

Now since I capped out of yellow globes, I started fishing for Cheval salmon. Thing is that samlon sells for almost nothing at the AH. Very fustering since now instead of fishing for some profit, I am now fishing for almost no profit.

So I was wondeding when Can I expect to start making real money doing this?? I hear storys on how people make like 60K an hour just fishing. So how do you do it? I need to know what fish to catch and at what skill lvl you need to be at least.

And do you sell these fish at the AH or is there a quest where you can get gils by turing in fish.

you do not make 60k per hour on average.

Lvl 90 fisherman would probably make around 25k with Lu Shang.

And I'm sorry.... Fishing for Moat Carp (crap as you call it) is the best way to make money for long time. I can usually catch around 3 stacks of moat + some gold carp, which is usually around 12k-15k per hour average.

just check your auction house to see which ones are worth catching. I know on my server nebimonites and shall shells are like 12k a stack and bluetails are decent too.
probably the best fish for raw profit earning power is the black sole. they sell for 1400g each to NPC's
the problem with them though is you need 90+ to catch them well.

But definately just check your auction house for a stackable fish that sells fairly quickly at a high price.

lvl 35 fishing here, use to make about 10k an hour, now more like 8k give or take timing.

The patch changed my tactics a bit.

Fishing is one of the few crafts with imediate money, i.e~sell to npcs. The down side is you can lose catches that are at times 20 levels lower then your skill, given moons and time. Oh the slight plus side you can catch fishes very much higher with certain conditions.

before patch I caught
rusty cap =2.6k per about 2-3 per hour
dark bass = 130g with low probility of gem by means of fishing quest. about 8 per hour.
gaint catfishes = 225g about 8 per hour.(non stackable)
red treppin =675g about 5 per hour.

All to npc which means constancy to an extent.

With the patch rusty caps are now 98g to the npc, but with smithing 30+ skill, or right pricing at AH for people to exploit this with their smithing skill, it's not that bad. We have mogchantment:fishing now which is good =p

This is not really farming money either, I'm actually trying to level my fishing here.

Other money fishes are carps, quus(if you can warp =p), yellow globes for beginingers.

There are many ways to make money fishing, but will have flaws like other money schemes. Mining tanked very much when people caught on. Or lizzy and valk emp.

There's a slowly impoving trend with fishing though, unlike other crafts that seem to lose money till 60s. Fishes sold to npc start going higher and higher till it beats farming any day.

The words "high level Japanese players suck" are in your original post. Maybe you meant to say "It sucks when a high level Japanese player is hunting in the same area you're trying to farm and always beats you to the punch"... but that's not what you said. Try to express yourself a bit more clearly when you're throwing around words like "suck" if you don't want people to get insulted.
