Friends list

I think I'm either missing it, or its just a pain in the ass. Me and a Friend cannot figre out the Friend list. Could someone set me on teh right path please. I have found nothing except in game /friendlist and it says Friend must be a registered user.

/sea (friend's name)
then it'll ask you to name your friend..
then Send message

if u and ur friend are playing on the same server, u could use /befriend command; target ur friend (both of u have to be in the close distance enough to target), and type in the command. it'll ask u to name ur friend and send a message.

otherwise, try the method Sugesuke_Plain mentions. if u and ur friend are in the different areas, use /sea all (friend's name), as it'll search the entire areas. then select ur friend's name from the list, select "send message" from the list that pops up in the upper-right, and the rest is the same as above.
