Do cure spells harm undead??

Just wondering if you can harm undead with cure spells like in other FF games. I want to persue the paladin job, and was wondering if his cure spells can be used in that manner for extra dmg vs undead.

Yes -

Divine Seal (Lv.15 WHM Active Ability) + Cure IV does heavy damage to undead

Hmm, I was under the impression that Divine Seal had no effect on the damage done by cure spells, only the amount of healing they did. I didn't do as much experimenting as I could have though. But Cure is a very effective weapon against the undead regardless.

when i played beta..at level 28 i killed a wight by myself with 2h..he didnt get me half dead..i used all my buffers..rested and used 2hr ability with cureIII ( i think) i was doing 100+ damage and i could do 3-4 of em

At 42 Paladin (heck once you get cure III).. basically Enchanted Bones (the easies) + one cure III = insta death or 97% whacked off it's health meter for it. Then again my healing level magic is on par with our WHM in my LS. But if you're in a PT and decide to persue PLD, don't waste your mp on crap like that. It should mainly be used to heal yourself and piss your target off (cure III is basically used as a backup taunt for me.. fire 2 in a row and I have hate the rest of the fight >D). As it is Paladin has some undead resistance, and Holy Circle which gives a bit more resistance. So a PLD can be ok against things. I soloed a Wight in Qufim at 26 PLD and was ok.

Now as for my WHM buddy.. he generally tends to "nuke" undead when in PT with me than actually cure me... so while its ok for soloing, if you're a healer do your job and heal, and THEN if it looks ok feel free for all out nukeage ^^
