Starting Tips?

I finally got enough cash on my check card so I could start playing the game, and I was put onto the Ramuh server. I have barely acquainted myself with the game and do not have any knowledge of Japanese. I actually bought a book tonight to start learning Japanese, but until I have a good understanding, does anybody have any starting tips? I am an Elvaan BLM and need a bit of help figuring out the controls, UI, etc. I printed out the guides from this website to help me out, but I thought the experienced players might have a few more tips. Thank you for any suggestions!

First of all, if you got plopped into Ramuh, I suggest you jot down a couple of names from this forum and start trying to do /tells to any of us whenever you are on so we can try to get you a linkshell pearl. Don't expect to survive as an english speaker with no japanese knowledge without one. ^^

Other than that..Uhh..It's really kind of difficul to say what you might need to know without knowing what you already do and do not know. That's one reason why the linkshell is so valuable: When you run into a specific problem, you can usually get an answer pretty quickly. It's very useful having a lot of people around who have already been there, done that.

P.S. ..Elvaan is not really the best class for BLM..Just a tip from an Elvaan mage But do what you like..The game is no fun if you blindly take everyone's advice all the time, and you can always change jobs later.

Hiya there Jnco ^^ Welcome to Ramuh. IMT doesnt mind if you /tell them to get a LS so please do. Just dont bug them too much if they say that it will be a while. I know that alot of LS bag holders are usually with PTs in the new zones. Hope to see you around Ramuh~
