Auto Fishing Macro?

As more than a few of you have noticed, some people in this game have rigged up autofishing macros / AI miniprograms.... Heres the closest thing I can think of..

/fish
/wait 30
/fish
/wait 30
etc...

but, then what would you do if you caught a fish...? Need some proof of what I'm talking about? head to Bastok, the guy named Royce on the bridge in bastok market -> bastok mines has been there since February. Anyone have any ideas / suggestions?

I bet he uses a lure. Dont have to worry about bait then. And also, he could have a seperate account, where he sends the fish from Royce to whereever.

Heh, I've actually stood next to some of those people and had a conversation with them while fishing, so I'm sure the people you're talking about are sitting in front of their computer/TV as well. Besides, I don't think there is a way to loop macro commands in FFXI, so the /fish, /wait 15, /fish, repeat won't work. And even if he doesn't run out of bait, what will happen once hit inventory becomes full? Even with both gob bag quests complete, you're bound to fill up 48 inventory spaces soon or later (the other 2 spots are for the rod and lure).

Anyway, my only theory on how they're managing to do this is that they're probably getting a younger sibling to fish for them while they're not doing quests or leveling up. I know I'm not the only person that forces his little brother to repeat tedious tasks that I don't want to complete over and over for my own self gain, am I?

I found one of my friends fishing... this was at like 4am, when he's usually asleep, and he didn't reply to anything so later I asked him how he could fish while sleeping, and apparently 2ch had some sorta fishing program on it a while ago, they took it off and dont support it anymore (according to him anyway) but I havent tried it out myself so I dunno, seems like cheating to me =P

a lot of people do this for the beta
whenever you see someone in the beta with multiple 30+ chars.. chances are he/she has a sibling playing aka no downtime
