ok, so what have we all learnt this weekend

melee and BRD buy all the element defense possible on earrings, belts, necklaces, green headband, rings

I know the other gang doing summon battles had their mages wiped out by not doing the lower-platform trick, this trick is too good not to do. It means mages don't need to wear element defense.

keeping summon on the pld/tank at upper platform by avoid over-casting as BLM and WHM. Means don't leave all curing to the WHM and BLMs. The drk/rdm able to use cure3 helped in that video's case.

Avoid using Hi-Ethers, as they are hella slow since expansion. You have to wait 10 seconds as your character is "eating". Stick to keeping yagudo drinks on. In those 10 seconds people can get spanked.

Choosing the defense prizes from the summons are good for future battles against them.

We tried Ceis as MNK/DRK, he hit summon hard and it made summon hate him too often, kabau needed to be wasted on him. Reverted to using MNK/WAR with the better defense boost and double atk.

I'm not going to point out the things that have already been discussed. The whm subbing smn is good for mp refresh. Since I was casting cure3 frequently on the paladin, I also used yagudo drinks. I think the war should have too, but didn't. Oh well. Anyone who is subbed whm should use yag drinks

Almost won. At the last few pixels of health, garuda kept doing her curing move. The war some how ate it, and I think everyone started running out of mp because it was dragging out too long. I also think the rdm was too focused on curing the pld and wasn't able to finish off garuda with some good blizzard spells.

This time was a go. The blm, even without freeze, made a huge difference. One thing to note is this time the pld thought the summon should be fished instead of fought in her circle, which caused the whm to die during the special. Its really crucial to do the different levels like sheila said. I actually can't believe we won with whm dead

Same configuration, this one seems to be a winner. I actually died in this one from taking 1300 damage from the special. The blm let tornado fly at the last few slivers of health.

After the battle, the pld and bard were arguing what caused my massive damage take when the other front ends were only hit for 150. The bard seemed to think he missed getting me in his carole range, but the pld thinks it was just luck, and that it is possible for the special abilitys to "evade" your resistance, regardless of how high it is (which is interesting, and scary) I did check my earth resist after he did soul voice just out of curiosity and it was at 128. I looked over the battle log for about 10 minutes to try to figure out exactly what happened, but I couldn't tell.

that "random pass " resistance has to be possible, cause I checked logs as well and same thing happened. Everyone had the carol+soul voice but people still getting one shotted.
