How do things like this happen? I remember once on our server sandy took over saruta, but why? I mean, does a giant nation-specific linkshell decide to do a bunch of things in the region like trading at outpost and training low-level jobs?

Yes. Topics were posted on Alla coordinating for Windurst to have a bunch of crafters go and make equipment to trade right at the outpost, and also to have people buy cheap low level armor at the AH and trade it. The goal was to allows Windurstians to get the outpost warps for those areas. They're organizing for Sandorian conquest of Sarutabaruta this week.
