      I don't think it's just SAM's though.

66+ is where you really get into the Light/Dark renkeis. For a THF, they can renkei with a RNG, WAR or a DRG. Can't do Light with a SAM until Kasha at 71+. So, for me at least, that leaves me partying with either a RNG, WAR or a DRG for optimal effectiveness. Yes, I can go Distortion all day long with a myriad of other jobs, and even do 3 part Light, but that's more of a pain in the ass. Partying with a RNG is less likely, just in the simple fact RNG's level so damn quickly compared to other jobs. PT's with a WAR are less likely as well, since there's really so FEW WAR's at that level, that and they're packing such decent damage that they snag hate at times. So that leaves with DRG's, which are the only job less likely to get a PT than me.

Seems the endgame melee setup is biased towards RNG's, and nothing else. MNK's finally get their break of being unwanted at 65+, when bone pt's become a factor. But for everything else it's either get a RNG, or your PT is a mediocre 4k an hour PT, doing 3 part Light/Dark, and missing the renkei half the time.

The only job that seems to really flourish 66+ as far as invites is those damn DRK/THF's. They fill (steal) the job of a full time THF by doing their puny SATA's, but they can also be semi-flexable, and work well renkeiwise with almost any class.

So, all in all, I blame SE and all DRK/THFs.

Oh man, I used it because I looked back and remembered "hey.. noda was goin pretty quick on his JP client.... but I'm not moving >.<" so I gave it a whirl lol. Plus I needed an outlet to test how I was coming along with japanese due to my CC not providing classes XD; worked out nicely. However, odd thing is -

since the "EN" players in my level range knew I wasn't really "J", I got a lot of invites from them and they turned out being pretty decent >.> hell, since I didn't play that late at night most of my groups ended up being EN anyways XD 70-75 I was all JE though (and did a lot of exp just by doing shit with Zen.. you'll get there and do the same with people that want merits, etc)

And this is why I'm playing WoW more than FFXI, and my THF AF is sitting on my mannequin in Sandy right now.

There is no reason at all for a DRK/THF to be better than, or even equal to, a THF main. The same holds true for any ???/THF.

I personally find any PT leader that invites a ???/THF for hate control over a THF main to be moronic, and I find S-E's continued allowance for any job 60+ to blatantly "replace" a THF main by subbing THF inexcuseable.

Even in WoW, which admittedly doesn't have subjobs and whatnot, as a Rogue, you cannot use your Backstab ability among other "Roguely" traits unless you're using a Dagger in your main hand. I'm a Sword/Dagger Rogue, and until I finally found a Sword that wasn't "Main Hand Onry", I suffered for a bit without a lot of my Rogue abilities. S-E should have long ago made Trick Attack a One-handed weapon only kind of thing, or even daggers only. This new Assassin trait is simply too little, too late, as "pubic opinion" is that 60+ it's DRK/THF vs. THF/???.

To all you DRK/THF's out there, do not take offense to any of this. If I found out today that THF/SAM was the secret to getting me PTs or something, I'd be all over that as well. You took advantage of something that allowed you to get PT invites better, and I don't rightly blame you.

As for the original post of finding a set PT for my THF, forget it. Apparently no one really wants a THF 60+, HNMLS possibilities are non-existant, and I've really lost all motivation to play FFXI save to level RNG off and on, and get CoP done. I've resigned myself to the fact I simply don't have the motivation to deal with the assbackwards "endgame" on Ragnarok, I don't have the patience to deal with the political BS and ass kissing, or the racist JPs and elitest importers and "old school" guys on the server. It's quite clear over the course of a year playing on Ragnarok I've made zero impact on anyone in the game, and al the people I did consider friends have either left to play WoW, quit the game entirely, or have hit the "endgame" and become elitest snobs who don't want to associate with a mere LV66 THF. Mainly, I resent S-E for designing and creating a game where fun seems to mean monotonous and repetative and boring WORK, and where I can play for 66 levels, and still not be anywhere. Rank 10, Sky access, full AF, many many levels in other jobs, 270+ uniques quests done, and I'm still not "good enough".

So if you need me, I'll be playing my RNG, or in WoW. WoW I can at least solo, and RNG I can get to 75 in a month like most everyone else.
