Looking back - Those were the days...

This is not a thread about stupid gilsellers, nm bots and people stealing from eacother -- no, this is from where it all began --

I'm probably making this thread -- for my own, but also for people who wanna have a say along the way --

So this is for everyone who played since November 2002(before and after too ofcourse )...


It just crossed my mind today how much fun FFXI actually was back in the first months of playing.
I understood absolutely nothing of this game (as it was in japanese, and I'm danish ;
Actually I remember Sheila posting here on the forums, flashing her uber Lv. 60 AF hat ^^ Woah, Lv. 60
Her name was the only one i remembered when I first logged on, and I just random telled her, if she could tell me how to look at the map, and where the magic shop was -- haha newbies

Oh yeah, and Johnnyram and neogundan >< Geez, people were screwed when you decided to "quit" *ahem*

Anyone remembe Toybox and Arevir (Joshua Rivera) - I had some lesbo fun with one of my Elvaan F. mules at the gates of Sando
(/em wonders why EN community has such a bad rep these days )

And the reason I began playing Seymoure ... How cool was this Elvaan Blm, running around Bastok (:S) and killing bees and huge armadillos ... God the game looked sooo cool (still does) when I first checked it out on some other side.

Sooo, this is just a rant of complete useless things -- But I just wanna thank the people who i played with from the PC release (JP) till I moved to Fairy server...

Einz -- Woah, Bst was cool ^^ I remember that JP guy I lvled alot with though it was soo cool when you charmed dhamsel flies in Valk

Spanky, Sectah, Itazura, Jolie, Seymoure -- Fun fun fun ^^

Draco for helping out on M5 -- (how the hell could you level Bst 5+ lvls a day in a PT ><)

Laquincain for getting me a pearl ... You send someone from Valk ALL THE WAY bak to San d'Oria to get me that pearl ... And on Chocobo too ... OMG!

Red Lotus LS for having me around ... Was fun ^.^

Evilkitty and Evilghost ... Omg, Evilkitty got that damn Carby Ruby and we didn't get any for me that day.
Evilghost for helping me with Castle Oztroja part of M5 -- and I helped you out with that Mnk AF in Fei'Yin I think ^^ Blm Lv. 50 go go go ^^

The alliance I made at Lv. 5 who get owned badly in Valk -- How was I too know you couldnt kill rabbits at such a low lvl?

Carnage for having such nice journals... Was amazing reading stuff back in the days ^^

Echo for being n00b Whm ^^ Hey, you thought I was cool lmao

and anavrin for "helping" when we were all running around like crazy trying to figure out how we could get Smn job ^^
(I did all Star Onion quests for crying out loud ><)

So, thanks all (and to those I might have forgotten too) -- FFXI is special when you have someone to play it with ... Just remember -- it's hell of a lot more fun playing this game if you make some ingame friends ... Explore and have fun, don't rush it -- It's just a game, but my import time left me with some cool memories ^^ If only all games could be like this

I miss the old days too, because it's definitely not the same as it once was. I still load up my old video (found here) from time to time when I’m feeling nostalgic.
