break 1 quest questions (possible trip?)

Almost ready to challenge the limits!! ^^ Hehe, anyways, from what I read and heard, inorder to complete the cap 1 quest, 3 items are needed: exoray, bomb, and lich. The following is the information that I have regarding these items:

Exoray, found in Crawlers Nest - recommended PT level 46+

Lich, found in Eldieme - recommended PT level 47+ (beaceadine side entrance) and 48+ (jeuno side entrance)

Bomb, found in garliage - recommended level information not sure

Question: for the bomb item in garliage, what is the recommended PT level, and more importantly, what level tank would be needed to withstand the blows of the monster?

Possible trip: since most PTs will fight in crawlers and eldieme, these two items may not be so hard to get, however the bomb item could be troublesome for many (including myself, but i need the lich item too^^) and therefore I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a break1 item trip. Anyways, it'll be greatly appreciated if someone can provide more information about the cap items, and as well, if anyone would be interested in joining this trip.

The way that i used to get the bomb item was by taming a bat, and set it on the bomb. But i think they somehow make the bomb more difficult now so Im not sure if its still work now...

The thing is...never risk trying to withstand the bomb's explosion. It is too risky..so if you are fighting them, and see it start charging...RUN, I repeat, untargetted it and RUN as far as you can. If you are far enough, you will be safe from its explosion, and you get its item.

Be careful though, Bomb is a magic attract monster, don't use the magic near them, otherwise, it will come straight for you...

Recently completed this quest, but can't confirm the levels. I was in a PT of lvl46-48 and we were able to kill the Lichs. That trip was lucky since we got 4 drops in less than 3 hours. I went on another with LS members and we got only 1 drop in the same amount of time. One of the harder ones to get a drop.

Exoray - Went with a 60mnk, 50war, and i was 49whm. Didn't take too long for a drop. A lvl47 PT can kill the Exoray, but risky especially if the mages get hit with Silence Gas.

Bomb - First time, 60Pld and 60Mnk did the trick. Garliage itself is dangerous so need someone with Sneak. Second time, just the 60mnk took on the bomb, chancy because he couldn't always kill it before it blew itself up. But, an Elvaan 60mnk "can" solo the bomb and get the item. It won't drop the item if it explodes though, does about 800 damage so would kill anyone under level 50 that's not a fighter. So, most likely a Galka or Elvaan tank with about 1000HP or more can take the blast.

Long ago when 55 was absolute level limit, I remember helping a party get Explosure at old garliage basement spawn spot. Bats died before Explosure died, so we ran as it exploded and we still got items. Aside from that, bats also can withstand bomb explosion and you still get items. Maybe it changed now.

I've also seen a level60 PLD Elvaan die to explosure. It's all about proximity to the bomb. Everyone, even those not in party must run when log and graphics say it's exploding.

When I did it, which was quite some time ago, I went with a full PT, mainly of over 50s who could just kill the bomb very quickly.

But I've done 2 recent trips helping people out, and this is how:

We went up to the stairs past the cavern type area, which leads up to the Droma's/some fallen officers.

I tamed a choudo bat, not a raku as they can be too weak, and went to the 1st, or 2nd room on the left, and set it on the bomb.

Stand by the stairs with sneak on, and get a drop

You have to time the taming of the bats so you can immediatly set it on the bombs, i.e. wait for a bomb to pop and then search for the suitable bat.

If you need help with it, put a time you want to do it here, and I'll try and help. However, I think there are many people in Jeuno who need to do it? I'm not sure, since I haven't played that much recently.

hehe...When I was doing that item, only me (WHM49) and Densetsu(RDM50) tamed a Citadel Bats and set it on the Explosure. The bats killed it and I got the item. On our way out, the tamed wore off since we both have sub job BST Lv1 and the bats start attacking us. :sweat:

saiyo, thx very much for ur offer to help^^ i will be on on friday and saturday at 10am JST (8pm est thurs, friday), so which ever time is better for u we can go then, if those times r not good for u, pls let me know when it would be a more convienient time, the items that i still need r the bomb and lich item, but we can just go for the bomb item if u r busy with other things, thx very much in advance ^^

I got the Lich item at level 47-48 PT in Eldieme (the one that you have to go pass the Rangemount Mountains and stuffs.
Exoray items at level 50, did it with the Exoray item hunting PT, lvl 48-50....still some of us died from either silent gas or the spore gas...
Bom item drops easy..the problem is you most likely need a BST. at first we only went with a guy using his level 7 BST(lvl 50 some still level 38 lol, and a warrior level 60) support..lol
He did tamed a beetle in Garlaige. So we used the Beetle to fight one explosure. the beetle somehow won and killed it to get the item (guess the beetle can withstand explotion too), then out of nowhere, a Taru offered help ^^, BST level 55 (rockin!!), we got the item easily...
