Its not necessary to create a LS for Emptiness, you just walk in there like any other area. You don't even need a full alliance to get to the BC (teleport) spire, 2 PT's is enough. Its just a mission area.

One thing you do want is a good setup for the BC, which can become challenging without a solid PT and good teamwork.

I finished Dem and Hora. Hora was a bitch. I had to do it 4 times and on the fourth one we barely beat it.

Hora requires melees to drink Poison and use Hi-po. Problem is that every time I got first timers that didn't do what they were told. A good set-up is:

Ranger, Ranger, War/Nin, BLM, WHM and BLM or another tank.

Only worthwhile job is Ranger, War, BLM and WHM for Hora M. All melees need Ninja sub for Utsu1.

The boss has area sleep and also absorbs any food and Enhance spells you may have. Therefore, no Puro and melees go in w/o food. Mages using Pie is OK. Everyone needs to use 2H ability near end.
Dem was easy. Mea is also supposed to be easy.

LS is not necessary since you don't do it over and over. It might be a good idea to set up a set PT to go on these. I just joined shouts.

I'll write more when I get the chance.

Tomoh which job did you go in as? I went in as PLD, which was not the best choice. But I'm very glad I didn't goin as BLM because when you die in the BC, the exp loss is real job exp, not level 30 exp. Also, did you manage to beat Hora without all using 2hr? (ref. "had to do it 4 times")

EDIT. There is an error in reference to the exp loss statement above, the exp loss is actually level 30 exp loss, NOT real job exp loss. I had a bit to drink and read it wrong. Sorry for the confusion.

I went to Hora as follows (first job is me):

          1. RDM, BLM, WHM, RNG, RNG, WAR
          2. BLM, BLM, WHM, RNG, RNG, WAR
          3. 2nd time w/ above w/o 2H
          4. BLM, WHM, RNG, RNG, WAR, WAR

Basically I went on 3 trips. #2 & 3 were done together, which was a mistake. The first time, I went as RDM per leader's request. RDM is useless since 2H ability is useless w/o MP. In #1, 2 & 4, everyone used 2H except boneheads who were pwned.

The first 3 times, we were very close. Problem is that Weeper kept sucking our HP. Set-up # 2 and 4 will work. Like I said, the biggest problem is people not following strategy. Some melees just get a brain freeze as if they are fighting Maat for the first time. If everyone is in sync, it is a win.

Ah, I thought there was some strategy to do it without using 2hr to save time. HP absorb was a real bitch in Hora and Temu (haven't tried Mea yet), things are much easier with 2 RNG. There was one time, I went in there with an alliance and it took forever to locate the correct Memory Recepticle, granted it was 5AM and people were barely conscious, there must be a more systematic way to get around it.

Hora boss absorbs HP if you have no enhance on. For the winning battle, our WHM was casting Bapoisonra, Baaira, etc to make sure that HPs weren't absorbed.

The winning battle would have been easier if the melees took Poison and used Hi-potion like I told them about 20 times. RNG woke up in time to hit Eagle eye with 4 dead and everone close to dead. Even I was using Hi-po near the end to stay alive as BLM.

For Hora, definetly use the 2H. Don't skimp on potions.

That's pretty impressive actually, I haven't heard of anyone beating Hora without poison yet Looks like the problem I had was the mages running the little monsters around a little too far while I was holding the boss, and thus out of range for most of the ba-spells - also explains why my Invincible failed to gain hate from all the monsters. Maybe I will give it another try as PLD just to test if the BC is doable with PLD.

Let me clarify, all melees had poison and Hi-po. Several forgot to take it when it wore off. Thus causing sleep and death. This other time, a melee forgot to use Hi-po I also loved the RNG who used Eagle-eye after half the PT was dead and we were all close to being wiped out. What was he waiting for??

It is important to have a good set-up. Galka WAR/NIN would be the best tank. Also, people need to be well stoked with Poison and Hi-po. Mages should have Yagu drink and pies. People cannot be cheap, but more importantly, need to use them as if they were in a Maat fight.

reading all this makes me wonder if it's smarter to go as a BLM or WHM instead as BRD?

Did S-E design these in mind with the only way of succeeding is use war, whm, blm and rng? O_o Okay so that works, and everyone will use variations of it for now. It just sounds odd that other combinations won't work well. Especially considering this at lvl 30 too. Perhaps as noted, it'll just be incredibly hard. Or too early to tell maybe. /shrug

I think it compares to dynamis somewhat. Can't win without certain jobs. Other jobs can go but the basis has to be there.

This might be S-E's way of getting people to be more well rounded, instead of playing 1 job to 75 and meritting the hell out of it. Considering its a LV30 cap, it shouldn't take anyone too long to get the necassary job to 30 so they can complete this. If not, you're just lazy.

There is another thing I wanted to clarify. I went as BLM for the first time last night, and I was getting limit points instead of exp points in the Emptiness area. I don't remember ever switching to merit points, unless I talked to the NPC by accident. Has anyone gone in with a 75 job not registered on merit points but was automatically getting limit points in there? I can't check right now because I can't access my character from the office.

I've got a few questions for you guys who've finished this already. I understand the order is

                                1)zone to delkfut, get cut
2)Talk to npc in upper jeuno
3)talk to npc in ru lude
4)Go to shattered crystal, enter emptiness area with alliance

What do you do now? Do you only have to find the receptacle point, then enter it for the bc fight? Some of the jp sites have strange instructions for collecting anima which I didn't quite understand. Thanks!
