The only reason it isn't as big of a problem as it is here in the States is the difference in diets.

The main reason people started lotting was back then the auto-distribution did not work properly. Items would be lost with full inventory, and duplicate rare items could be lost by going to the same person.

THAT is the reason people used to lot on anything/everything. But there is good news - this has been fixed in recent patches.
Items can not be auto-distributed to full inventory players anymore, and rare items are not lost anymore.

Just ask any Dynamis LS what they do for lotting now - since so much crap drops in Dynamis and you fight pretty much constantly, the only things that are lotted is Relic and AF2. The rest can be left to auto-lot fine now with the fixed system.

EXP PT's arent under the same type of strain, but unless one person REALLY wants a certain item there is no more need to lot.

Some people just refuse to change.

Sorry, I can't really pick up inside jokes on the internet, it just doesn't register with me because the lack of a tone of voice. And there's a shitload of factors that attribute to obesity. I won't get started because there's simply too many reasons to list. And...when you take a statistics class, you seem to do some weird corrolations, like the population of lions in africa to the average temperature. Variables are a bitch. We're both right here, but still even though there was some validity in my statement, it was meant as a joke too. Seems like we're in the same boat with the lack of voice.

Started out as a dont PT(BCNM) with this guy to should we lot or not to obesity

Anyways, I just let it auto, no reason to lot, if someone wants something for crafting, and its not a high selling item they can lot on that one item when it drops and let the rest auto.
Sometimes there just isnt time to lot, in my PT yesterday there was NO time to lot on all the stuff that was dropping, we were killing things in seconds and were fighting very close to other mobs so we just pretty much switched targets and kept on fighting

Yeah it's a code. What you do is uninstall your POL viewer, then reinstall it. Okay after you do that, repeat it again. Then after the second time, log into FFXI, the second it goes into full screen, hit alt + escape, it will crash to the desktop. This is normal. Then you go back and uninstall it again, then reinstall it. Do it another time. And then after this reinstall you'll be able to have your subjob higher than your main job.
