  • The How to save our account before it's too late thread

    After losing many friends to this plague sweeping the importer nation, i figured tht we should make a forum on how to save your account (if on JP ver). i hope that those who have survuved (Veskar..) will share your knowledge with us and post tips and such.

          Well Veskar had one of his dad's friends go to the S-E office and sort all of that out (he had usernames, passwords, etc). And if Veskar did it, I'm sure others a IF they have a friend or family member in Japan

              It says something like: This request cannot be accepted. Please visit the support Desk for more information. I got that too when I tried to change my CC information~ It doesn't let you touch it anymore. Even if you were able to change it though it wouldn't make a difference because Dart actually changed his CC# (during the grace period before he got the warning) but he still got that warning and locked his account and POL even though he put in a fresh CC# with money waiting to be spent.

                  "Please pay off your current outstanding balance on the current CC information we have on you, after the balanace has been paid we will be notified by your CC company about the payment bieng made"

                  Either get someone to pay off your debt in japan via Convenience store or talk to your CC company, but seeing how American and Japanese Credit systems work differently, the latter wont help at all.

                    One way to keep this from happening is to try to buy a new content ID once a month, thats how i saved myself. Tried to make a new character, it told me i couldnt because my payment method was expiring next month...so i changed it and i didnt have ne problems.

                        I have two ID's with John and one with Zan....how do add another content ID? And how does this help? Still the same information as before isn't it?

                          i think he means because when you get an additional one they have to tack on another 100 yen to your account, so they have to charge you right then (like when you get the instant pol bill via email when you open or close content IDs). Perhaps just confirming your billing info (the middle option in service/support under payment i believe) will have the same effect.

                            Just put it on a check/debit card... if you're ever outta money there, you won't be worrying about your FFXI account :sweat:

                              How did I keep my 'importer' account? I live in japan...
                              So naturally I used my friends address who lives off base in japan. In theory since it is a real address with a living person who answers mail it should be find.
                              But yes, the biggest tip? Don't let you're information expire! You will not run into any problems if they don't ever have to send you anything. One late bill and they will try to send it to your home address. Which at that time it will return to them saying the address is fake. That's when you get in trouble.

                              I am going to have to figure out how to change my account over to an american account soon too ;.; It seems like I might have to move back to america in the next year ;.; I am not looking forwards to that, but instead I might try to go to Puerto Rico ^^ You never know, might just come back to you Soniti ;.;

                              *sigh* Oh well, good luck! I'm not sure if they annually send something to people's addresses. If you've ever got anything from square in the states, that could be why ppl are no getting kicked. I changed my CC information already once, my card expired so I just changed it before they needed to send me a late bill...
