ok when people start relating this game and the dumb ls war to the kkk and other organizations that is when i know it is getting out of hand and makes me worry. I'm gonna delete all my previous posts on this thread because it is just generating more hate and i dont want to be part of you guys who are all hardcore like that. this is a game and people are talking bout racism and other crap becuz one guy didnt like newbs???? this is madness. i do not condone racism of any kind that is y i stopped hanging around in dk when i saw a symbol that offended me which is associated with superiority of a race that i am not apart of, nor do i believe the race i am is superior to others. remember people this is just a game.....have fun and chill out.

Let me be a little more clear. Not everyone views Drako as a racist but there are people who do like myself for several reasons. Drako has voiced a negative opinion on all New Players. Quotes like "Its a new Asshole everyday" and "They are nothing but dumb shit" support this. This isnt the same kind of attitude as racism? He generalizes all new players like how a "racist" person would to a group of people they hate. The view of Drako as a racist is a valid one by his actions and words.

Sure he may have helped someone newbies out from time to time, but does he ever say, "All n00bs are dumb cept for a few"? Has he ever said anything like that? Nope. Does he ever say, "NG has a lot of dumb n00bs but there are some good people there tho"? Nope.

He throws the manji symbol around because HE KNOWS people will mistake it for the nazi symbol. If it were a few times only, then it can be a joke but he used it far too much. He knows very well that it will upset some people but because he does not respect everyone he does it anyway cept for a few people he considers "Elite".

Because he considers himself Elite and labels certain people Elite, his wannabe Elitist attitude contributes to this attitude that can be called racism. Much of his argument about newbis or n00bs is that they do not know how to play the game. Even after a few weeks he complains that they still dont know how to WS combo or such. Obvious he feels he is better than them so wants nothing to do with "incompetent" people. Isn't this the way a racist would view things? That they are better than the ones they hate? And they purposely do things to aggrevate and piss off the group they hate? Isn't this racism?

Yes, you can write it off like this is "only a game". Thing is, or atleast the way I look at FFXI and other MMORPGs, its a game AND a community of people. When you interact with people on this level, it becomes a community and saying its ONLY a game is making an excuse to hide a fact. If Drako was a NBA player or NFL player and made these comments and do such actions, would the players in the league ignore him and say its only a game? Would the public that watches the games and follow the sport ignore him and say its just a game? Is Drako's conduct appropiate behavior for this game AND the community? It's ok for him to hurt people's feelings? It's ok for him to blatantly attack a people for no good reason? Cause its "just a game"? Is it really "just a game"? I want everyone who currently plays this or any other MMORPG to ask themselves that.

Of course this is mine view of things and not everyone will agree. I have been around FFXI since it first came out and been through much seen Gundan was first formed under Aliengundan. This type of trouble isn't new for me. I have made many friends along the way and a number of enemies as well. I have met different groups people just as if I was walking around the streets of NYC here. If it was "just a game" could I do this? There are quite a lot of people who will stick to "its just a game" stance on everything. You have to realize there are people like me who care about the community and stand up for it when it is wrongfully disturbed. Do not write it off as just a game. Maybe for some the community is just as enjoyable "as the game". The sole fact that there was a LS war, bickering between players, and people taking side should be more than enough proof that this is more than just a game. If you disagree I would like to know why? :spin:

Urm, aside from all this intricate explaining.. I want everyone to know that this is not a server-wide problem.

The reality is most of us on the server have never heard of NG, or DK or Drako nor have seen shouts (english shouts, insulting shouts, any kind that would cause complaint) or witnessed any of these problems described.

Everyone here is making this bigger than it really is.

That is enough. Right or wrong, this whole DK/Drako has been beaten to death many times over. Sheila makes a good point. I play quite a bit and spend most of my time in Jueno. I had never heard of this problem until this post. I'm closing this thread.

Wait a minute wait a minute, I havent even seen this thread at all but I just have to say that talking about Drako this much puts him in today's head lines. Just stop mentioning his name and he wont be as famous as he is right now.Tomoh let's just keep the thread opened since it is a Ragnarok situation and the majority experienced these flames hapenning on Rag. Look back to this cus it wont be happening hopefully in the future.
