To be honest, I (WHM Taru) was really amazed how little we used in there. I got by on 4 Yagudo Drinks per battle, Celeras (BLM Hume) 2-3 and I beleive Sharkie stuck to Ethers when he needed them. Orts (PLD Elvaan) was using only one Yagudo Drink per battle and sometimes not even that if he could get away with it. Soniti (WAR Hume) and Gunsmoke (MNK Elvaan) were eating high quality kebabs for it. Personally, each battle was costing me 6k but the battles were so easy I didn't really care.

Also I will be doing the bard for this... which sounds really important... if anyone has brd tips that would be great.

Biggest tip anyone can give you - don't panic. You panic, you lose. Eat a VIT kebab and stand and take the beatings you will get because if you die the battle is already over. I'm not to sure the significance of Race for the bard job but Sharkie didn't fail a single lullaby. His equip was Monster sign and Mary Horn so maybe the CHR and lullaby+ played a factor in that. He also used Taru RSE to have a sizable chunk of HP added on.

Lastly, I don't recomend anything but a Elvaan or Galka PLD; anything else just wouldn't survive flood. Also, Gunsmoke's equip was top notch and he was really kicking ass in there.

I'm not sure how much CHR plays in sleeping the mandos, but its good to have lots since its a main stat as brd (my chr was 42+18 at lv40). For brd in a mando bcnm, you're job will focus mainly on sleeping all mandos and having the pld choose the next target, you also should use curega if you're party is asleep (if you're asleep too, wait for the mandos to hit you, then sleep them all and cast curega). Also.. every few times you sleep, you'll have time to play 1 or 2 songs to help melee or mages. Ballad once in a while + use accuracy and attack up songs.

[edit] Oh yeah, as Russ mentioned above, it's a good idea for brd to use a defence kabob since all aggro will be on brd once you sleep. Plus, have a few hi potions just in case.

There is never limits on Classes, Elvaan bard is always recommended but its BS when a taru can go as well. PLD is never limited to galkas and elvaans in BC.

not meaning to hijack the thread any further, but I thought I would go ahead and post how the BCNM fight went for us on lakshmi.

The first one we lost... NIN WAR WHM WHM BRD BLM... not really the ideal BCNM combination... it seemed like it might have worked ok, until the warrior's connection died and we were stuck with 5 people in there with only the ninja and blm for damage.

Second one however we won, albeit it was really hard. NIN WAR MNK WHM BRD BLM. NIN used blink and pulled the initial mandoragas... straight past me... 2 escaped the initial sleep which made things interesting. I can see why paladin 2hr is extremely helpful with starting things out. I admit I did sort of panic a few minutes into the fight... I tried to help heal some and got in some late lullabys. I can see why you guys were definitely proud about winning... this definitely did not seem easy at all. Getting erase at the end made it all worth it though... time to try some more when we can.

Congrats man, you should be proud you won one with that set up. I assume you did it with freinds as that is a bad set up to enter a BCNM with. One of the hardest parts with setting these sorts of things up is telling freinds with unsuitable jobs they can't come. If you was to replace one of the WHM with a PLD you should win easily, but I guess you know this :sweat:
