What is the rate at which this sucka drops the big prize? (8chr staff) I've killed em numerous times by now, 4 times today alone. All ive gotten thus far are those stupid gloves (i have like 5-6 on the AH now..), or the whm spell deodor. Both equally useless... TT

I could have swore it was around once every 4 times, but this was with a thief with Treasure Hunter ability. So either get a thief, or keep fighting it.

Treasure hunter does affect drop. For each treasure hunter1, it's like a "check dropped items 1 more time". For each treasure hunter2 its "2 more times".

Using a THF45/WAR15 to hunt this NM, I get drops from 1/3 to 1/7. It really depends on your luck. But with THF you'll most likely get less spells and more gloves if you don't get the big drop. Probably the best drops I have ever gotten is a ratio 2/7 kills.

My records say alot but that is because I used BLM to hunt this NM before but now solely use THF.

I was lucky, waited for 3 hours, and got it on the 1st time I killed em~completly random

I killed it another 2 times, and got 2 deodors TT. Since i started keeping track, that makes 0 for 6 :sweat: I'm not leacing giddeus till I get the big drop.. tired of being poor + having to ration by gil

how hard is this NM? What level could I possibly solo it with a bard? I am looking to get a monster sign for my bard. I have 80k gil saved up now (only need 20k more to buy it) but if I can camp this NM for the item instead I am sure I would like to save the gil.

i killed HMT twice tonight. one drop of the staff and one drop of the spell

waited 5 hours for him to pop first then 1 hour after. 5 hour time dropped

when you get to a higher level go kill giants in delkfutt's tower.
people have said this before, but I really underestimated just how easy it is to make money this way.
It must be especially easy for pld to do
just sub atleast lv5 thf for double gil and you get 75+ gil every kill.

What I would do is run across the first floor and up one set of stairs that goes to a dead end with a couple giants, after killing them all sit and regain HP and wait for them to respawn.
I got about 1,500+ gil every time before I sat.
not to mention giant lobbers drop packages that sell for like 3k each or something.
so last night I got about 10k in an hour and a half-two hours, plus four packages that I haven't sold yet.

Although on sunday I did kill Mee Deggi the punisher to get my attack +20 gloves which sell for 380k+ on my first try, after waiting an hour and a half.
But there's no way I'm selling them.

About delkfutt, the first level giants drop around 75-100gil per IF you have lv5+ THF sub. But the real money apparently is higher in the tower, I have been told that giants up there drop 200+ gill PER.
