Currently lvling on Zegham hill and finding it tough, not the mobs being tough, but theres a lvl 65 blue mage and a lvl 40 ranger one shotting all the mobs making it difficult to claim one, will have to move areas due to their selfishness.

Are they killing the sheep too? If it gets to be too much of a problem claiming bees and gobs, you can always grab some dark crystals, Windurstian tea leaves (assuming they're on the AH; I guess it can be hit or miss these days), and distilled water and make some Sheep Leather. Or wind crystals for sheep wool for that matter (though it's not as profitable). In my experience, the high level farmers tend to only go after the bees, maybe the gobs. They almost always leave behind the worms, bats, and sheep. (Yeah, the bees are nice if you can get 'em, but XP is XP, and everything on that hill drops stuff you can sell.)

Also, check the NPC with those Shell Shields; depending on your fame you can probably get more than 100 gil for them at a vendor and not pay the AH fee and use up an AH slot. I used to buy them up whenever I could get them for 100 or less and just chuck 'em to the nearest NPC. Same with crab shells if you come across them; I think NPCs give more than 300 even with minimum fame, so that's my buy/sell point at the AH.

Nah they took every mob, bats, worms, sheep, gobs, bees, skeletons, wolfs etc. i asked if they could farm else where and got the usual LOLZ NOOB get a life....

Ok Warrior lvl 1-7 took 1 hour picked up alot of items from mobs and duely sold in AH.

Now before I level from 7+ with warrior its worth doing a few things.
Firstly get a bone chip and get a Danguf Wadi map from the NPC close to the Bastok Mine zone in Bastok Markets.
Next get Mission 1-2 from the gate guard and go to Cids Workshop in metalworks to get a bit of litmus paper.
Grab signet, then get regen from fields of valour and select one of the quests for you to do while walking to Dangruf wadi to the far west of South Gusteberg.

Now some of you may be saying Warrior = great axe, yes its true, but with Bastok in 3rd place last week and again this week (although they have taken saratabuta!!!) you can;t buy one form teh NPC and to be honest 5k for one in the AH is criminal. So I am waiting to get up a few levels to get the next one up which is only 2k but need to ge to that level first. Also due to bastoks position I am not buying leathers from teh AH as again their rediculasly expensive and not worth it when with the fields of valour regen until lvl 10 and scale gear (which is availiable all teh time to buy form NPC) their is no need for it.

You will come accross alot of ore when fighting worms so do the following.

Zinc ore - collect 4 then trade with NPC Talib ( F-6 ) in Port Bastok for 350 gil and some tenshodo fame.



Copper ore - collect 4 then use with a fire crystal to make a copper ingot, sell on ah for between 300-600gil depending on server.


Silver ore - sell on AH you'll get around 200-400gil each dependant on server.

Completed Mission 1-2 and spoke to cid again.






Some more earth crystals sold so that adds another 500gil to my kitty.

Changing gear time.

I now have 2 pieces of Legionaires armour bought with conquest points, mittens and hat so i ahve equiped them now as their lvl 10. I also got legionaires axe which is a lvl 10 small axe. No Great axes are in the AH or sold by NPC's at the moment so will ahev to stick with small axe and shield. As said before I got the Scale Cuisses from a chest so the only 2 items I need is Scale mail and Scale Greaves.

You can get scale mail by doing this quest "Past Perfect" but its quite a treck out their so best buy it from NPC and you can do the quest later and sell it on the AH.

You can run your character to Jeuno, and from there to the city where another NPC sells it, if it's too expensive even in Jeuno AH. Feast of Swords should make running many zones easier, too.

True but for an effective warrior its good to have both levelled and Gaxe can be levelled when they becoem availiable as I will not tank in the Dunes without a shield as it saves vital WHM MP especially when i have no sub job.

Its very risky and time consuming to run all that way but is a viable option if anyone thinks they can do it, its personal preference.

Feast of swords is a bonus, but its not always on. so I am doing this with maximum handicap to give a worst case scenario experience.

I would wager that the MP saved due to Shield Break is greater than the MP saved due to a shield.

But as Armando would point out (at least I think I'm right), Shield Break will help kill the mobs faster, which means less time for the mob to hit you which means less damage taken, which means less MP the healer has to spend healing you.

Ok I don;t get much time to play during the week but slipping on for an hour.

Right busy week so not much playtime, time to do a few hours today. War is currently lvl 11 now and will level up while skilling up Gaxe on the hills in South Gusteberg.

Crystals seem to vary from week to week depending on demand.

Saratabuta is still in bastok hands at the moment so I will be taking an opertunity to get the outpost their.

This means walking to windhurst.

I will go via Konschtat Highlands, selbina,Mhaura, Tahrongi Canyon etc. I will use my lvl 15 mnk so i only get agro in dunes and mhurra to which I am going to purchase some silent oils and prism powders to assist. You can avoid agro very carefully but I have 1 day to get it and only 4 hours game play so it will make it easier.

Now the prism and silent oils are not cheap but if you use them sparingly i.e. in situations you know you can't avoid agro then they should last a while and also help you not get agrod when travelling to a camp to ge to a party.

Silent oils are 9k a stack of 12
Prism powders are 8k a stack of 12

I also bought bone harness for 4k (lvl 16 gear) and Bone sublinger (1k) for when I ding 16 on the mnk.

I will outpost warp to North gusteburg to keep down walking time.

First I will get supplies quest from gate guard for saratabuta then start the long journey.

During the journey I only used 1x silent oil (to get past bats in tunnel in dunes) and 2x prims powders to avoid unavoidale goblins in dunes and Buburimu Peninsula.

The goal, the outpost in West Sarutabaruta under Bastok control, a rare thing for a starter area to be controlled by another nation so take advantage when this happens once supplies have been given to the guard you are able to teleport to/from Bastok here via Conrad (outpost teleport NPC) near the residence in Bastok Mines.



While in windhurts I decided to do a few quests to get some money using material I already obtained walking here.

Drops i got that I will sue are as follows..

Yuhtunga sulphur (from Mandragoras)
Cornette (from mandragoras)
Bird feather
2 leaf Mandragora bud

Go to Yoran-Oran - Windurst Walls (E-5) (you can buy maps for the windhurst area at teh Map NPC in Bastok markets or if you forgot from windurst woods at H-11.)

Talk to him to activate this repeatable quest Mandragora Mad Trade the items on the list if you have them singuly.

I got 250 gil for the sulphur and 200 gil for the cornette

I also due to having a bud and bird feather do teh Teachers Pet quest from Windurst waters North by trading a bird feather and 2 leaf mandy bud for 250 gil

Its a good idea to do many small lvl 1 quests here to gain items and gil, i will list them as I do them as it would be a good idea to spend some time here for a change of scenery and also to obtain items you couldn't around Bastok.

First things first to make navigating Windurst easier do the Flower Girl Quest I bought a lilac from teh auction house for 500gil and the ability to exit into any part is a godsend especially with teh size of Windurst.




While getting items for quests I am also going to lvl WHM up, as Windurst is 2nd and will either be first or second next conquest tally I have the spells here I can buy or farm.

Whilst on Monk i buy a robe for my whm when i change for 252 gil and a Maple wand for 57 gil form teh shops in Port Windurst. My starting Galka RSE give the stats of other armour pieces (legs, feet and hands) so don't need to purchase those.

Still on monk I will do this quest "A pose by another name" in windurst waters for a painting and some fame.

The more quests you do the higher your fame in that city which opens up more quests, for a guide on fame view this guide here

Ok its been a week due to work commitments.

I did the Hat in hand quest in windhurst waters. Just talk to every NPC in windhurst waters to complete the quest paying special attention to the ones listed in the guide.

AH time...

As a galka the MP pool is poor, however sinc fields of valour came out this will not be so much of a problem.

Select the first FOV quest and get regen and refresh assistance.

Go to the magic shop in Port Windhurst and stock up on low level whm spells. I already have Paralyze (whm lvl 4) I got from a quadav in gusteberg.

The aim now is to get a job to 20 and to walk to Jeuno to do the chocobo quest. I decided tog et back to bastok as in my past experience its easier to walk to jeuno from there.

Before I go I did the teachers pet quest again for 250gil and did the To Bee or Not to Bee quest in windurst walls for 3 pots of mulsum. These I will sell on the AH and can get up to 1000gil for each pot (In medicines section of AH)

In the fields of valour field support items their is a item you can select called Repatriation, it costs 50 tabs so do another low level fields of valour quest if you don;t have enough. Once enough choose it and it teleports you back to your home city, in my case Bastok, Bastok mines district.

Right AH sales... Not many today.

At this stage you are now struggling for space in your MH and inventory. This is where furniture comes into play.

I bought a Bahut from windurst for a modest price of 7.5kgil which has 8 storage spots on it. This when place in your MH (using layout command) opens up the storage window. You can store up to 8 items in this piece of furniture. The only thing is you can only access the storage items when in your home city MH, you can't access iot from other cities or nomad moogles.

I also bought a maple table for 800gil, put the painting up that I got from the pose by another name quest done preivously and an earthen flowerpot to start gardening. I now have 11 storage slots which i have put my RSE and beastmans seals in and a few other items that will take a long time to get a stack of.

First thing is to get rank 1 in missions, I have done the first 2 and the third is to get hold of 4 quadav pieces to make a quadav doll called "Fetichism" The easiest way is to buy the parts as to get all the aprts and be safe you need to be lvl 25+.

On completion of Rank 1 you get 1000gil but the 1k loss is worth it as it could take many hours to get those items and in a dangerous area.

Get the mission from the gate guard, then trade the items to complete.

This post reminding me of furniture is probably one of the most useful things I've read in here so far. New players would definately overlook MH furniture, as I had pretty much forgotten it completely.
